This same recording has called me from four different phone numbers.702-520-1273702-520-1103702-520-0071757-990-8981
They call a couple times a week to tell me how urgent it is that my warranty information be updated, blah blah blah. A voice says he's pulling up my info and will be back in a minute. While I wait, an automated voice gives me a couple options: press 1 to update my warranty info, and press 2 to indicate info is already updated and to be removed from calling list. I've pressed 2 on previous calls, but the calls keep coming.
Recieved several calls from this number over the past few weeks, each time it was a pre-recorded message asking me to press 1 for information about extending my vehicles warranty, or press 2 to remove my number. Pressed 2 for the first few calls, pressed 1 to talk to a representative the last time. Person asked for the "Make Model and year of my vehicle" told them "I don't think so, I want to be removed from your list" Person on the other end of the line replied with "I don't think so" and hung up!
Contact the FBI at fbi.gov. They have a complaint form that you fill out online. Maybe if they get flooded with our emails like we get flooded with the phone calls, they will take some type of action!
I'm posting in reference to the number 757-990-8981. Its a recorded message stating that this is the last notice to extend the warranty coverage on my car. It then gives the option to talk to a live operator or press #2 to remove your number from their call list. I've been getting these calls for weeks and everytime I would press #2 so the calls would end. They didn't, so I started pressing #1 to talk to their representative. Their first layer is a transfer center where they screen your name and number, if anything is amiss, they'll hang up on you. I did this part several times using a fake name and number, which they did hang up. Finally, gave them my name and number and got to level 2, the Senior sales representative. These guys pitch the sales, basically a $3,000 warranty package, with $1,000 down and multiple payments. At this point, the sales guy wanted my vehicle info, so I told him I would go get and hung up the phone. Hehe, he called back, I said sorry, must've been an accident and then hung up again. He called back again 8-), this time, he wanted my credit card info first before we got disconnected again. I laughed, called him an A-hole and hung up again. When he called back, their corporate office number showed up on my caller ID: (954)423-3700. I proceeded to call that number every 5 min for 2 hours, asking to be taken off their call list. FYI, the office is in Broward County, Florida, their address is: Corporate Office, 1868 N. University Dr, Plantation, Fl, 33322. The office staff is not very helpful, and I still get their automated call. Everytime, I start calling the corporate office every 5 mins for 2 or so hours, I was even told to stop, cause it was annoying...
Spoke with the FBI today and they stated that these are people calling from Nigeria or Bulgaria and they are spoofing U.S. numbers for this scam. Since neither of these countries honor U.S. Subpeona's even if the FBI finds out who they are, there is really nothing that can be done. These companies can even enter the FBI's number as the number calling. MODERN TECHNOLOGY...isn't it great!
HOW DO YOU STOP THIS?!?!?! They are calling my CELL#! I tried that "kill the calls" website, but it's about suing and I have no idea which company my calls are coming from since it doesn't say a thing. If I call it back I get a message it's disconnected, and they never leave a message...and if I answer it there's nothing there. I JUST got this cellphone and registered it on the DNC registry right away, but I can't file a complaint since it hasn't been 31 days. I've received these calls 4-5 times a day everyday! Anyone been able to get them to STOP?! Thanks for all the help!!
