Caller ID read "Dont Answer." Guess they're using reverse psychology to see how many fools will do exactly the opposite as requested. At least I find this more honest than Verizon to whom I pay extra each month for the caller ID and Verizon is too lazy and cheap to update their software or databases so 50% of my caller ID's read "Incomplete Data."

I just received a call from this number not 10 minutes ago. I also thought it was a bit shady when the caller id said don't answer. I wasn't going to, but was curious so i did. when i answered i heard a little bit of static and then nothing. last night i received a call from a loan company and the person had a really thick indian accent and i couldn't understand a word he was saying. I hung up on him but that number came up out of area... So i googled the number and all of these posts came up. Good thing I didn't give anyone information because applied for loans recently.

What's got me wondering is how they ever make any money off this 'scam'? If we answer, don't answer, call back, Zapper them, or play along with them for awhile......or whatever, where is the pay-off for these scumbags? How do they collect? I'm wondering if it could be a method for the terrorists to get through the homeland security's domestic phone tapping. They hide their few important calls each day or week inside this massive, 24/7 telemarketing campaign. If Homeland Security does tap them, they must analyze hundreds of thousands of these types of calls to find the one call which might have national security importance. I realize that this probably sounds paranoid as hell, but we are told to think outside the box and speak up if something seems suspicious. Well, it seems suspicious as hell to me that these scam artists could survive this way. We've been getting another call from a "Penny, at the message center" for over a eighteen months. I've answered twice to silence both times, had many messages left asking me to call back, I have never called back, and I've picked up and pressed the # button several times on at least a dozen occasions. I've never talked with anyone and never given any information to anyone. And I still get these calls. If it doesn't work, they'll stop doing it. If they are still doing it, then it must be working, somehow. Where are all the testimonials of people who've had their bank accounts drained, or their identities stolen because they answered or called back. So....maybe these calls are working. Just not working to make some scumbags rich, but rather working to hide the illegal conversations of bigger scumbags in a huge body of "telemarketing calls" which do not fall under the juristiction of the Homeland Security. Just a thought. I hope it ain't true.

got call at 1100am this morning, callerid said DONT ANSWER so i of course didn't. how f'ing stupid, why the hell even make a call if your callerid is telling people that you are a scam?
