I have been recieving phone calls from 800-111-1111 about magazine subscriptions and they keep wanting to know personal information stating they have to update their records. The mans name supposedly was David and when I asked which magazine they were calling in reference to, he could not tell me. I was then transferred to a female and told that if I did not confirm the information she could not "cancel" my subscription when it RAN OUT in 20 months! I told her that I wanted to know which magazine and which company and she replied with "Don't cooperate, I am sending you to collections" and proceeded to hang up the phone. I watch my credit report closely but fear someone was gathering more info for their file. The government really needs to look into these calls and prosecute the offenders.
I agree I get these call also. I do the same thing and even told them to put me on the no call list.. They tell me I have a 20 month subscription. I said how do I when I cancelled. They asked when. I said you have the info infront of you you tell me... and then hang up... ever time. Or ask them for there phone number to verify and again hang up... Nothing has been charged to my card...
My gf called fro a job in the san diego reader (free publication) a couple years ago with my phone number. They say "Hi im looking for so and so, we have received some complaints about lost or damaged magazines in your area" This morning when I woke up to this number I just unleashed on the lady on the phone. I called her and boss an f--ing fraud. And she said you dont need to curse at me im just doing my job. And I said something to the extent that shes a mindless drone just stealing from other people so she could make a living. I made her cry =) Anyways moral of the story, never pass on any information via phone. If you already gave them an account number, check your charges and cancel the card and get a new card. THese people are relentless they will call you back months later with bizarre numbers. good luck to all
This just happened to me. They told me I had been "paying" for magazines for 6 months and they were calling to confirm I would be locked in for 20 months. He also asked personal questions like what my job was and how much I make a week. I freaked on him and he said well I'm mailing you your original order you had with us call me back when you get it. I went right to the bank and cancelled my card. You can't call the number back cause its not real! Can't wait to see this "order" which I never placed get sent to me. I don't believe they got any money out of my acct though.
These people are obvious scammers. I keep getting the same calls. They couldn't tell me which magazines I am subscribed to and when I refused to give them my birthdate they cursed me and hung up. DO NOT VOLUNTEER YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE without verifying the company first. This place is a scam 100%
I have received at least 7 calls from this number 800-111-1111 in the last 4 days. I have never answeredthe call... never will. I'm sure it's not someone I NEED to talk to. If it's important they will leave a message! But of course, they NEVER do.
Don't answer the # of 111-111-1111 because there a group called the ones and they call you and hang up or ask for your name as if they need someone else and not trying to talk to you. Any ways don't pick up just ignore? It could leed you in to a bad situation, DON'T PICK UP!
This 111-111-1111 is a gang called the ones all there trying to do is get you name so don't pick up just ignore it!
Don't pick up your phone if the # is 111-111-1111 because it could cause you to get in a situation you don't want to be in, if you pick up they will either hang up or pick up, if the pick up the phone they will most likely ask for your name because they are trying to act like there looking for some one else but real they just want your information, DON'T PICK UP!
