I'm fairly certain anyone on this message board claiming this number is legitimate is either confused, or possibly working for the scam and entering false information here to confuse people. We got phone calls from this number right after a surgery--within days--far too soon to be late on any bills--and we did not use any anesthesia from this provider. When I started searching online it became apparent in my mind this is not legitimate. This appears to me to be a complex scam. It looks like they prey on people with recent hospitalizations. Remember, if a company is asking you to enter your credit card information over the phone and is unable to provide you with specific information about what you're being billed for, don't do it. It's likely a scam.
Ligitimate company just too big.Anesthesia Business Consultants, LLC (ABC) is the largest physician billing and practice management company specializing exclusively in the practice of anesthesia and pain management. ABC serves several thousand anesthesiologists and CRNAs nationwide with anesthesia billing software solutions.
I just had a baby and my crappy Blue Cross isn't paying for my epidural. So I do owe them money but its in the "pay later" file. May not always be legit, but mine is.
I got an automatic call from this number about thirty days or so after my procedure. It was for the anesthesiologist's bill. I was told that they were separate from the hospital. I'm glad I did check on the bill because it was past due by two months. At least I avoided collections. I was told when I called in that they do the billing for multiple anesthesia/pain groups over the USA so the call out has to be generic as it's only a computer system which is understandable. Hopefully not everyone that comes to this board is convinced that it's a scam or else they are looking at some collection activity.
They started shortly after my husband had surgery too. Bill had been paid in full already, it is a SCAM! I am now wondering where they get their information because some of us listed here had surgery, how did they find this out?No affiliated with a hospital would have an automated phone system asking for credit card number, they would require talking to you directly.
I want to know how a scaming company is getting information on many people that they have had surgery or been in the hospital, the same thing is happening to my husband, had an out patient surgery, all is paid in full and then they start calling, they do not leave a message and all companies I know of that you have a past due balance with would leave a message, this one does not. When you call the number there are several options, one being if you are an attorney requesting information, why would someone already have an attorney if the company is trying to collect a debt? They answer the phone Anesthesia Associates and there are some legit companies by that name but they are usually regional and I called my hospital the name is slightly different for their anesthesists. They automtically ask for an bill/account number and of course if you don't have that they want a name and phone number and then more info. If this company can get info that you had recent surgery, what else can they obtain?
They identified their selves as Anesthesia Associates, not (ABC) and my particular hospital does not use them, be careful of similar names!
