I have been getting these calls for the past 2 days. I am insured with Progressive, but do all of my bill payment online and my payment is not due until the 8th of each month.

I have a policy with Progressive, up to date, but due to expire within five days. I made a payment online this morning... through the website and clicked the 'installment' button (so the number should have been right... I didn't input any numbers)... Received three calls from this number during the day (Saturday).Checked my bank account online... everything in the deduction suggests that Progressive already has my money...This caller left no messages.... and I'm not planning on calling back.

This number does in fact go to Progressive Insurance in Ohio. I called it back, selected option 2 and spoke with a woman named Theresa. In speaking with her, it is calling to remind people to pay their insurance so it doesn't lapse. Data entry errors due occur, when I gave her my number, it wasn't even close the policy holders name and when people don't update their phone numbers (cell phones) and you have a new cell number, they might call it, from an old policy holder that didn't update their cell or current phone numbers.

That was me. We all should be diligent to make sure all our contact information is up to date with all the companies and services we use. At this time there is no database that will hold phone numbers to check against other data. (that we know of) If you get a new phone number or fill out forms be sure your contact information is correct and it's good practice to verify your contact information each time you communicate with the companies u use.

I have never been insured by Progressive, and if this number is really Progressive I will never be insured by them. My insurance company always leaves a message.They could be calling me about a quote, but if they are I will never be insured by them because I was looking at switching insurance companies, when my policy expired, over a month ago. I have renewed my policy with my current provider because I did not find any other provider with a better price.If it is Progressive, I have a word of advice for them: "LEAVE A MESSAGE"I never take 800 numbers seriously when the only identification I have of who is calling is what I find online.

This was a valid call for my name and policy number 3 days prior to policy end date. Verified info by calling Progressive customer support. If you don't have progressive, they probably have a wrong # listed for one of their current policy holders.

I get calls from this number at my home phone and now my cell phone too. There is an automated message that plays looking for a person with similar last name to mine. And it says "if this is not the mentioned person...hang up the phone".

When I recieved a call from this number it was a recording reminding me that my car insurance was about to expire unless renewed my policy. It was a legit call.

Called this number back and spoke to a representative. She asked for a policy number, and I told her I didn't have it handy. She asked if the number I was calling from was the billing number, to which I replied "Yes". She looked it up, and told me my name and billing address (correctly). She stated they were starting a new service of reminder calls if you were nearing your billing date and they had not received payment. My bill was due in three days. She asked if I wanted to make a paymen today, and I told her I could not. She said if I was mailing my payment, to be sure to date the check the 12th (the due date) and have it post-marked by the 12th as well, and it would still count as being paid on time.She wasn't pushy, didn't "demand" information, etc. so I'm fairly sure, combined with the above information, that this was a legitimate call.However, it still irritates me when people call and don't leave a message !!

Been calling me for a week. No message. Called it back and spoke to a customer service rep. I dont have progressive insurance and never have. Someone either entered my number by mistake for someone else or someone gave them a bad phone # since ive had my cell phone number for 5 years. Said they would take that number off the list.
