They called but didn't leave a message. CID just listed the number. We also bought a car and financed with Wells Fargo a week ago. Seems to me they should either leave a message or have their name on the CID so we know not to block their calls. We've already gotten their 'welcome' package and set-up for payments so there's nothing pressing for them to call us about.

Just bought a convertible Mustang and Wells Fargo financed it. They have called and hung up on me too.

Apparently, scammers can make it look like they are calling from someplace official (like the IRS). It's interesting to me that so many of us just financed cars through Wells Fargo. I am certain there are lists available somewhere to these people. Now, why they just hang up is a mystery to me, except for the one claiming to be from Microsoft. If you do talk to these people and they are asking for any personal information, I would tell then to send a letter. And don't confirm your address for them; they should have it. The IRS is warning people about these scammers, and telling people the IRS will contact you through the mail, and not to fall for these phone calls.

I just bought a car and financed through Wells Fargo a week ago. This is horrible already... 2 calls in an hour tonight... Numerous calls during the day. No messages left.

Just bought a Jeep a week ago, got the finance info from Wells Fargo yesterday, and received a call yesterday and today from this number, the message was just breathing for a few minutes with what sounded like some phone center chatter in the background. Called back on land line and got Wells Fargo Dealer Services, talked to a rep and asked why I get calls and only breathing for a message. They wanted my SS or account number which I refused.

How long did it take you to receive the "welcome package" from them after you bought your car?

It is Wells Fargo to welcome you for financing a vehicle with them. This is their standard customer service to let you know that you will be receiving paperwork and an invoice with your 1st month payment info. It is not a telemarketer.-

I also received a call like this. They said my windows computer is telling them for months now there is a problem and it is urgent I let them fix it. If it's urgent, why did you take months to call? And I don't have a windows computer. I refused to tell her what kind I do have. I also financed a car through Wells Fargo recently, but they called me from a non 800 number (in my state) and left a message. Just wanted to confirm address for welcome letter.

I got a couple calls from these folks as well, but didn't answer - instead Googled the number and found this site. I too bought a car two weeks ago that is financed through Wells Fargo Dealer Services. So, when I got my loan information in the mail (sent to my street address instead of my PO Box), I called them up to correct my address to the PO Box (we're rural and don't get mail delivery to our homes).Anyway, after straightening out my own account, I recited the 800-279-9301 number and asked if it was in fact WFDS or not. The woman said it was in fact a legitimate welcome call from them.Well... I told her that WFDS needed to Google their own number and take a look at all the complaints about how the calls are being handled and maybe change their policies ASAP.

I received calls over and over, no messages ...I Just got a new car loan through Wells Fargo at the dealership. This IS Wells Fargo car financing. Finally, picked up today...took a while for operator to answer...she asked me questions pertinent to my new car financing and welcoming me and asking if I had questions for them etc. So this is legitimate call. I agree would be nice if they had left messages or had caller ID , identifying who is calling.
