They called and left voice mail, I called the number on the back of my card and they did say their fraud dept had tried to call me, so this number is real.
Nothing to worry about. This is a valid number and service. My bank verified it when I called to check. I preferred to work with my bank directly because I knew it was safe. So while this company is valid, always call your actual banking institution rather than give any account information to a company you do not know. Better safe than very, very sorry.
So, I was very skeptical about calling this company back. My bank was closed so I couldn't verify it. However, I returned the call and told myself that I would not give out my CC number. The man was very professional and simply asked me to verify the telephone number I was called at and my name. I had been having problems with my card, so I was excited to see if they could help. He just wanted to verify a couple of transactions that I did the day before. I consider them legit simply because they did not ask for personal information. Definitely, be on the lookout, but I had no problems with them. Again, I'm not saying that all of them are legit, but luckily mine was!
They should not ask your account number. They should ask you only the number at which they left the message, and your name. Because they called you, they already have your account# linked to your phone#. If they ask for your account# or your credit card#, you should terminate the call. The above information is from Kinecta Federal Credit Union Internal Security department, 2009 October 27.This morning a message was left on my phone with blocked callerID, they left this 8003373392 number to call back, I verified it is indeed the proper fraud number, and they asked for my account#. So something is fishy today at least.
nothing is fishy about it. Their number is not purposly blocked it happens automaticly at the phone company. They have no contorl over weather it shows the number or not. i work there.
This is a legit number and service. They left me a VM that stated they wanted to verify recent activity. I returned the call because I had spent over $1900 in two days (LCD TV from WalMart, recliner from furniture store, etc) and thought I would just verify that and be done with it. They asked me about a Redbox charge a few hours ago and I said yes, that's mine. Then they said there was a pre-authorization for over $1700 for travel arrangements out of Hong Kong. NOT MINE! I told them to kill the card and they did. They marked it as fraudulent. I immediately contacted VISA using the number on the back of the card and they verified that my card had just been cancelled by their security service. A BIG THANK YOU TO THE WHOLE PROCESS!
SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! Tried to scam me and my mom today, absolute fake, said there was "suspicious activity". Good try losers, get a real job!Anyone saying it isn't a scam on this website is a liar and part of the scam!
I think you are wrong. I checked with my bank which verified the phone number and they had all my transaction information without ever requesting and C.C. or banking numbers. I would call or stop in to your bank directly to verify but for me it was not a scam.
