Well they have switched it up a bit.Received a call from a women who definitely speaks another language other than English...she claimed to be calling from a hospital near my location to check on a claim. She could not answer any of my questions and told me to hold!! this call took about ten minutes just to decipher what she was saying and what kind of scam she is involved with...beware! funny I know the minute I pick up the phone that something is off and to proceed with caution. They don't get by this gatekeeper though they try on a regular basis.Sad that there are so many scams out there..this is a great site that I utilize often.
Our company, Kaba Mas LLC, received several calls (over 30) within a half hour period of time. Each time I answered the phone, no one answered. The constant interruption of these calls made it difficult for Kaba Mas to do business as our phone was constantly busy answering this phone and no one else could call and I was not free to answer other calls that might have come in. I would no sooner hang up and the phone would ring again within 25 seconds with no one on the other line. Because no one answered, I have no way of knowing who called or what they might have wanted.
This actually is Dell. I had done an online chat about my computer's drive not running the disc automatically. When I said that I wasn't comfortable having them access my computer online they said no problem. They called me the next day and I thought it was a scam, but today I received another call and told the guy I would take the computer back to the store, since it is under warranty and we have had it only 5 months. He said he would help me over the phone and he did. He didn't access my computer, in fact I wasn't online, just told me how to fix the problem and waited to make sure it had done what it was supposed to. Then said he would send me an email with all the info about the computer since it was currently in Media Play's name, since that is where I bought it. Very nice guy.
I was getting on average 3-5 calls a day to my cellphone in the past 5 days, until I blocked this number. Here is what is happening: a group of hackers based in India, are making these calls claiming that they are from Dell. Your ID caller shows Dell REAL 800 NUMBER, but don't be fooled. This is not Dell who are calling. There number has been hacked to be displayed on your caller ID as Dell's number and when you call this number back, Dell answers, but they have no record of calling you. In my case I don't even have any Dell products, nor I have ever dealt with them.My suggestion - don't fuss, just block their number, and don't be EVER tempted to give them any remote access to your computer, because that's what they really want. They will "show" you how "infested" your computer is With viruses and ofer you a removal tool worth about $700...and that's the whole purpose of this scam...
Received a call from this number; tel rang twice only and call ended. I don't answer to unknown numbers...even less if they don't leave a message.
This is Dell tech support. My laptop is still under warranty, and I had to call them. The failure was with Windows 7. Since it was a software rather than hardware error, I had to pay them a substantial sum to get the laptop working again. The tech told me what to do and I did the fix and paid them over $200.00. The tech support guy said he'd call me today to see if I had any more problems. The call came from 800-456-3355, and I could tell there was someone on the other end of the line but no one spoke. They have called another time since then - same thing.
