GE Capital retail bank, creditor sent a letter asking for more info to process a Walmart application. They ask me to verify my last 4 SSN & I refuse. I was told the application was done on line. Advices me to call credit bureau to put Fraud Alert on my file. I will call walmart to check if they have more info where this application was done.
Just received a letter from AMAZON.COM STORE CRD, GE Capital Retail Bank, Creditor, PO Box 965002 saying i made a credit application with AMAZON.COM STORE CRD. And the letter asked me to call back on 800-480-0186 since they require more information. I did NOT make a credit application for an Amazon.com retail credit card. They even had the nerve to sign off the letter as from the Fraud Prevention Department of GE Capital Retail Bank. This is the second unsolicited credit card in the last week...first one was from Chase re: an Expedia.com pass card -- they would not even cancel the account they set up (without my authorization) until i got the actual cards from them with the new account number. This Amazon.com card letter may also be Chase. What gives...i am going to complain to someone...just don't know who yet.
Both me and my husband had our personal information stolen. There are several cards that are being attempted to open in our name. This is the number that calls (or number on the letter you received) if you have opened a credit card from a number of stores. If you have not opened an acct, then I would definitely call the store and have them transfer you to the fraud department and have the application declined.
I received a letter from GE Capital Retail Bank,Creditor, in Orlando, Fl. Requesting that I contact them for additional information regarding my request for a credit application to Amazon, com. Sorry, I've never applied for an application for credit for Amazon.com. Obviously, this is another scam. Their phone number is 1-800-480-0186. I will be referring this letter to the Consumer Fraud Dept.
I received a letter from Walmart to call 1-800-480-0186 for additional information regarding my credit application. I can not stress enough that you take this very seriously. My identity was stolen last week. By paying attention to this letter I was able to stop the credit application.
I received letter from Paypal, Synchrony Bank. Requesting that I contact them for additional information regarding my request for a credit application . I called and stated my concern about the letter. I asked the rep what am I was applying for and after a pause she said a Paypal account. I told her I already have a Paypal account. She then told me I might be a victim of attempted fraud and someone else use my info. She asked me for my full social security number to inform the credit bureaus that I did not apply for a credit card. I sternly said no. I contacted Paypal and they have no record.
My husband called 800-480-0186 number because he got a letter saying he applied for credit with WALMART. Naively my husband gave his SS# & DOB. What can we do? I feel he got trapped in a scam.
My letter was from WALMART - Synchrony Bank, Creditor but using the same phone number (800) 480-0186 & PO Box.They were thanking me for my recent credit application with WALMART. (I have not applied for credit at WALMART and rarely shop there.)signed:Fraud Prevention DepartmentSynchrony BankPO Box 965002Orlando, FL 32896-5002
