Someone named Susie from Fidelity left a message on my phone to call 1-800-557-1900. I called it back and it sounded like a legit Fidelity number but when it asked me to enter my login id I hung up and called the customer service number on the Fidelity website. The Fidelity representative did a search of the number and could not confirm or deny that the number is legit, but she did say there were no notes on my account saying that someone had reached out to me. Better to be safe and not respond to that number.
Anyone can doctor up a pdf... we are telling you that this is a scam. There are multiple instances above outlining that Fidelity is confirming that this number is not theirs!
I got a call today morning from this number, person said he was calling from fidelity. And then forwarded to one of his supervisors. They seem to be professional and knew quiet a bit about me. He offered to help with any questions regarding the portfolio and manage it. Then he asked for account verification details etc. It sounded something fishy so I didn't gave it and instead asked call back number - he gave is 18005571900. Looks like it seems to be fraud number.
I just received a call on both phone lines from 801-828-1800 *Utah* leaving a voicemail. His name was Carl Trusner, claiming to be from Fidelity checking on my account (by name). He asked me to call back at 800-557-1900 x5959.Thank you for posting previous warnings. I won't be calling HIM back. No brokerage should be blindly calling a client unless there is an established relationship between 2 individuals.
All of these complaints seem spurious to me. This is the number that I got in written correspondence from Fidelity when I left my job and they wanted to know what I was going to do with my 401k. I talked to the representative that I reached AT THIS NUMBER and made arrangements to do a partial rollover and a cash payment. He rolled over the requested funds, and sent a check for the cash payment via next day UPS. I continue to use this number to get in touch with him whenever I need anything. If this is a scam, it is an awesome one as they sent me a check that I used to pay off my mortgage.
You've obviously never heard of "spoofing" - I wouldn't give my SSN to some random caller just because they say they're Fidelity.
Nope. There is no charge for the conversation. There is nothing to be sold. You would get a list of options available given your situation accompanied by the pros and cons of each option as they pertain to your specific plan. There is no pressure to make a decision.
" There is no charge for the conversation. There is nothing to be sold. It is legit!I just initiated a call to Fidelity at THIS number - 1 800 343 3548 - and was transferred to customer services who confirmed that the 1800 557 1900 number IS a Fidelity number.I initiated the call to the 343 3548 number (which I got from my own Fidelity Investment paperwork.)
