I've been getting voice mails from someone from Fidelity leaving the call back number 1-800-557-1900 for the past month also. I finally called a legitimate Fidelity customer service number (the one listed on my statements and their website) to ask about this 800 number. They looked it up and said it was their workplace 401K call back number and gave me the name of my representative which is also the same name as the person leaving me voice mails. The customer service rep even transferred me directly to this person. Will still do all my work online with them.
I have received several calls from this number stating that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me.
I was given this number (1 800 557 1900) in the Fidelity office yesterday as a call back number for my 401k plan. It is not the same number for Fidelity that I have on my savings statement. I gave them my #ssn in the office to access my account. After reading the other posts, I am still on alert!
Naturally the Fidelity website is experiencing technical difficulties like normal. Beware of a caller claimed to be Shawn Ye, 1-800-557-1900 at extension 87287 - Does not call back, must be a reason, does not identify the intent of his question, must be a reason, does not identify what office he is in, must be a reason, does not identify why he wants to discuss a specific 401K account, must be a reason, does not include his office hours, must be a reason. I consider it as fraud or inappropriate of Fidelity. Thinking Vanguard. Not a sales person just pissed I got such a call. Best Regards!
Got a call today showed up the number as 603-402-5050, but it left a call back # 1-800-557-1900 with an extension. Called that number and no one answered. But immediate got another call from the same guy. That guy initially claimed to be CWK investment and then claimed to be Fidelity, asked for my information to help me. It sounds very fishy and most likely a fraud.
I worked for Fidelity and can 100% confirm that this is a valid #. Problem is when you call the general service # they dont have access to some of the systems the group that does these call outs do. I worked for this group previously and used to get customers that would question the validity of it all the time. I would give them my full name tell them to call the # on their statement and have the rep locate me in the company directory to verify I am an employee. If you just ask did someone call me 90% of the time you will get a group that doesn't have access to the note systems best thing you can do is get the callers full name and spelling of it and all Fidelity and ask or go to brokercheck.finra.org and if they are licensed it will show who their current employer is.
Wanted to discuss account. Called Fidelity account number in my app and it's a good number for self brokerage accounts and the person was within that group. Not scam.
This one is sneaky. The caller left a message, said he was Josiah Renault, and that he was calling about changes to my Blue Cross 401K (which doesn't exist). Asked me to call back at this number -- which I did to tell them that they had the wrong person. The recorded message invited me to dial the extension if I knew it -- which I didn't -- to enter my account number if I had one -- which I didn't -- and then to enter my SSN. I hung up at that point.
