I gat a call from them and used the 7 digit number they left. I spoke to a person looking for an (unknown) deceased relative. The man told me he was calling a number with an entirely different area code and wanted mine. When I told him I wasn't going to give him my phone number, he told me only people who were guilty of something were suspicious. I hung up.Thanks for this website!!! Now I can go to their website if I have anymore trouble.

I got a call from a computer generated message stating debt collect regarding estate of(could hardly understand computer voice), they left Phone number and case number to call. When I called the number the recording asked if I wanted to enter is social securtity number to press 1 and other options. Press 5 if I needed more info, I pressed the number 5 and nothing happened.I wait a couple of seconds and then hung up. My deceased father had No money, No estate, No car, No property. Why are they harrassing me!

I received a message saying they are a debt collector, after reading the above posted messages, I will not return the call, and will delete the message immediately from my phone. thanks for the tips.

I would not return the call at all.I would just let it ring and ring for daysand months never answer and ignore them.They would not talk to me! Its just a scamto steal money. and the positive post above is proably just someone who works for the Scammers. Beware!do not be so easily fooled, naive or intimidatedwith these lying harassing thieves!

Even if he did have money,estate,car, propertyits None of their Business and they have no businessknowing or getting any of it! Its simply none of their business.

Same number called, person once asked for a "Walter Buggs," to which I replied that no such person lives here. There is no such person in my family either. If any of you get a name like that, could be this is quite a scam group. Could be legitimate as well, but when repeated calls from this number are responded to by me with, "Good morning, this is Cherri Brown, may I help you?" and then caller hangs up, I think rude, scam, ignorant, irresponsible.

Since posting yesterday, four more calls. On this last call, I answered just, "Hello," with a tone difference and a male voice asked if Mr. Buggs were there? So, I explained that one more call from this number and I would turn over all the recordings and numbers to federal authorities on a basis of harassment. I further explained that even after someone calling for Walter Buggs was told that we know no one with that name, the male voice caller said, "Actually, I was calling for Elmer Buggs." So folks I do believe this is a scam group, and the post above mentioning professional demeanor is probably someone from that group of highly suspicious nature. No need to be impolite with these callers, just contact law enforcement, record the calls, times, number and turnitin. :)

I get these calls as well, in a letter they claim they were hired by Discover card and were trying to collect a debt. I had told Discover card my deceased relative left no estate. These calls started shortly after I notified Discover card. So I too ignore the calls. Sometimes they leave a message other times they do not. You can tell them to stop calling and they have to, if you are not handling the estate for a deceased relative or there is no estate.

I am a financial advisor and have been helping out clients family after his mother passed. The debt was capital one and this company is a debt collector. the 800-604-5435 (or variation of) is an automated dialer. The 877-714-3739 was also the same company "Estate info services". just tell them there is no estate, but if there is an estate, direct them to call the attorney.If the call dont stop, you need to fromally give them a cease and desist order by fax or mail, and they then call one more time and thats it!!!(I know the NY law, not sure if it is federal) If they try more than once, file a complaint with the FTC.
