Someone called me and said they was with Microsoft and I have errors and problems with my e-mail and then gave me my email address. I asked what type of problems and she said if I log on to my computer she could show me. I asked why she couldn't she tell me first---she hung up. I called the number back 1-800-642-7676 - it answered with Microsoft with options to choose from if I was have problems.
I get a call about twice a week, first off I don't have a computer at my home, I use my iPhone or iPadBut they still ask if they can take control of my computer , I tell him once again there is No Computer, he then says " Not even a laptop" I tell him no , and sir you call about everyone 2 weeks I give you the same answer... nothing is going to change, I ask him a question about Microsoft , he says there a 3 party that works with Microsoft !!!Do not let these ppl take control of your computerWhile they are in suposeably fixing whatever they are installing a program that takes your information, Now you see that is why we have no computer... I called Microsoft and spoke with a person he told me that if you get a call from Microsoft ask questions , like there name is numberNever give your cc # outTake your chances if you feel safe but pls make sure your not going to get a statement from your bank and life lock that 2,800 was taken from your account and did you do this ?Just pls beware of theses scams.
Calls several times a day for 3 days now. I told him this is a business and asked what department he wanted and he hung up. Please do not give these evil scammers any information.
I call the guy a scam, he said "no you're a scam " I said "no, you're a scam". We went round and roundr
I got a call from them yesterday and did not pick up the phone because I had added it as "Microsoft Scam"on my caller-id a couple of years ago. They used to call all the time and would start the conversation saying that they had identified something wrong with our computer. I figured out at the time that it was some sort of scam because we were hardly using our Windows computer at the time, and they wanted me to allow them to connect remotely. Since they initiated the call and I didn't, I never went for that. They kept calling and calling - never taking me off the list despite my repeated requests - until I told them that if they didn't stop I would report them to the Attorney General's Office. Then they stopped for a long time. Now they are back again. If they call again in the next few days I will pick up and tell them the same thing I did then. And I WILL follow through with the AG's office if they don't stop. I had company when they called yesterday and didn't want to do that at that moment.
