Called again .... answered .... no one said anything ................. notified Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo Bank - 1-800-TO-WELLS (1-800-869-3557). No message left. Called them back. No record of why anyone called.
Got a call requesting to speak to my husband (they used his first name) and I told caller he was unavailable. Person said that he was Devon from Wells Fargo and that he was calling about the letter (my husband) received from Wells Fargo. When I inquired as to what letter, caller said he would call back at a more convenient time and hung up. (Note: I had him repeat himself several times as there was a great deal of background noise)
Its probably fraud. I don't have a wells Fargo account but I received an email that my info needed to be updated. I was told to call them at that number or update my info with a link they provided. Only call phone numbers that you get from their website. Better yet the phone number on the back of your credit card is always best.
reported once before. They are still calling, almost daily they leave no messages on the answering machine, just caller ID number.
This was Wells Fargo calling me.. I had just opened up an additional checking account and they wanted me to buy some discount plan that was 5.00 per month. (like a diners card, I think) If I signed up they would send me the info packet and I could call and cancel at anytime. Just for trying they would send me a $50 coupon voucher for a hotel stay. NO Thanks... somewhat persistant though and reading a script.
Received the call today, just after receiving in the mail today a letter for a Travelers Advantage program offer and free compact digital cam corder for the trying.
