2nd time I received a call from someone definitely NOT Wells Fargo but spoofed the caller ID number of Wells Fargo. Please, everyone else, do not give any information over the phone! 18008693557
I have received four calls from this number over the previous three days. One voice mail was left from a "Catena Taylor" of the "Wells Fargo Executive Office" asking for Veronica (who is one of a family of deadbeats that had my number five-plus years ago) requesting Veronica to call a 5-digit extension at this number, between the hours of 7am and 7pm Central Time, to discuss an "important matter". Since they are asking for a call back on the (well published) WF customer service number, I am assuming that this call is legitimately from Wells Fargo. I notice that on the contact pages of WF's website the only addresses listed in the Central Time Zone are in Iowa and deal with Mortgages and Home Equity loans. I guess that, based on the deadbeat's patterns of the past, in a couple months I can brace myself for a flurry of calls when they default on their loan and the creditors go looking for them with my number as their supposed contact number. But then, I might take the time Monday to call Ms. Taylor and let her know what I have experienced regarding the fiscal reliability of Veronica and her cronies.
Just a bit earlier I received another voice mail from this caller that makes me change my mind about the legitimacy of the call. The previous voicemail requested "Call me back at extension 24631" (with only the Caller ID as a clue to a call back number), while the latest message states "Call me back at 1-844-576-6424 extension 24631". (Did she possibly lose her place in the script earlier?) A search of Wells Fargo's site does not turn up this number and Google searching for this number only turns up phone number search sites, none of which definitely tie it to a specific business. Right now I as siding with the previous posters who say the call is bogus and potentially a scam.
Said it was a call from the sheriff's department and that Sara wanted to talk to me.
automated Mssg. from Wells Fargo to activate my new debit card which I ordered .......I was procrastinating...legit
I too just got a mailed letter from Wells Fargo??? (really questioning this), with the number listed above, telling me that I owe $2200.00 in garnishments but no where is it listed who the Ganishments are from, except attorneys Nelson& Kennard, Attorneys at Law.. No phone, no name, no address or from what state. I am taking this letter to my bank tomorrow and clearing up this mess and changing my bank account number if I have to. I suspect fraud absolutely.
They claimed to be Wells Fargo Fraud. They told me there was suspicious activity on my account and they were sending a code to the cell i have on file to verify it was me....I looked at my cell and saw a text with a code -stating it was Wells Fargo and 1,450 was being transferred to Zales....I started to question the guy and he hung up..I immediately tried to look at my bank account and I was locked out...at the same time - i received emails about transfers with Zelle from my SAViNGS! I don't touch my savings, so called the Fraud dept. at Wells and sure enough, somehow the call and text was all related and somehow they hacked my bank info, changed my password and transferred money. Luckily, the transfer was still pending....had to change my accounts, etc , Wells said somehow they can even mask a number to look like theirs....BEWARE!!!!!!
Yep... same thing happened to me. They hacked my account. I got an email notice from wells Fargo and called the fraud line. While going thru prompts receive a call from Wells, asking if I changed my password etc., I said No, and I was just calling you guys on the other line. They didn't ask for any info to my recollection but did send pin to my phone to verify identity... I then saw transfer immediately for $2,498 and while still on the phone the SOB theif he actually said "that was us, we just took your money!" and started laughing. I hung up called # on back of phone and filed a fraud case. They hacked my account and obviously somehow cloned the wells cust. Serv. Line and robbed me. Worse... wells is telling me account is frozen for atleast 10 days while investigation takes place. Their online platform is not secure, nor their cust. See. Line and as soon as this is resolved (hope I get my $ back), I'm switching banks ASAP!. Beware. These guys are slick, I never thought I'd get taken but I did.
