Got two calls from Penn Credit today. Finally, I answered and it was a recorded voice asking for my dead mother-in-law, who had same last name but has never lived at this address. She passed away four years ago and they said that she owes First Energy over $1000 and must pay within five days. Total scam.

I just called and they needed to to verify my address and when it didn't match they named some other address.

They called twice in a matter of minutes and the second call was immediately followed with a call from 800-981--2591. I didn't answer any of the calls, but I wouldn't doubt that they're the same company claiming to be from a different organization. It's happened three times now that I'd sit and wait a bit after the call, get back in bed just to have them call again as soon as I close my eyes.

Annoying, Stop calls!!!

My son died, different address, wife is responsible, not me...I owe nothing...She is responsible and lives in minooka, ill. So if you are calling for timothy or kelly that is your answer because i do not answer the phone to you out of area code...Got it! You are wasting your time.....I never give out my personal info. And you have her name and town. She is reponsible...Not me!!!!!!!

Penn Credit 800 900-1370; called me and did leave a message saying they were trying to collect on a debt that would now be over 15yrs old... I don't think so, plus nothing stay's on your credit report more then 7yrs. Anyways, they said we are trying to collect on a debt that is very very old, really??? How unprofessional, so whom ever this company is... You need to get people trying to steal money and idenities more knowledgable about what you are trying to do, DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY INFO!

Just to be clear, it varies from State to State how long a loan is collectible. In some States trying to collect on a time barred loan is illegal. (Texas comes to mind). But in some States admitting to an old debt can start the clock ticking again. Do an online search for the laws in your State. As always, if you get a phone call - admit nothing - ask for it in writing. Letter mail. Not email, fax, text, or web chat.

Who ever this so called company is, made a very fatal error in judgement. My mother died 18 years ago and how they got my number is beyond belief. I did over twenty years in the real Military and I am not afraid to settle things the true way. If they call my number again and I find out where there office is, they will get a visit from a real man that is not afraid. I will not only bring the federal police, I bring along the military.

Called was a record message. Reporting calls to the do not call list is a scam also! THE FEDERAL GOVERMENT SELLS YOUR PHONE NUMBERS PEOPLE!
