SUCH A STUPID SCAM. I SWEAR I WILL REPORT THEM THE NEXT TIME THEY CALL ME

got a call on my business cell phone from 613-951-3462 with ID showing GOC GDC. Claimed to be Statscan and asked the nature of my business. I refused to give any reply unless they could prove their identity. The phone got cut.

This GOC-GDC 1-800-931-1026 number has been calling my landline for years. Never a left message and never a live voice on the line. If the CCRA need to call you about your Taxes they will do so from your local agency or leave a message and contact name, that you must respond to under their current rulings. I just put the number on Bell's Call Screen Service! Very tired of running for the phones or answering machine to listen to a dead air line! LOL. Lat's paly ball!

Got a call today 26th of June from 1-800-931-1026 never answered it mite be gev number but,live and learn you never never give out your sin or any other information to some body that calls you go to your government's office if it's tax or moneys you own

Got the call today. Did not answer. When you dial the number back, it "APPEARS" to be the CRA. But I doubt it. If CRA was looking for me and my cash, they would leave a message.

Got another call from this line just now. So, I said "I" wasnt here, they left this number to call back- 1-800-959-2250. I asked who I was speaking with, the person on the other end got all nervous and started to laugh, and then said, "let me finish with the message, this is a call centre, and I cant give my name" OK.So, if this WAS the CRA, they are OBLIGATED to provide their information, even just a first name. Second, they would NEVER call, and ask you to call back another number, and provide your SIN. Go on the official CRA website, they indicate they will never ask for that information. THEY KNOW THAT INFORMATION!!!!!! HELLO!!!!DONT GET SCAMMED!!!! DONT EVER GIVE THIS INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE!!!!!!!

Got the call. OF course did not provide information. THought I would play a little. Called back the number they wanted me to 1-800-959-2250. I got a "Mr. Zampo" hahah Mr. Zampo. OK. SO I asked for Bilingual service...after the fumbling and mumbling, i was told to phone again, and maybe I could get the bilingual que. Ok, so strike one. If it is a govt phone number, and you want bilingual, you GET bilingual/french. Phoned again, this time spoke to Chris Misch. Yah, so anyway, didnt get far with that guy. Strike 2. Next I phoned, and asked how I could verify that this is actually the CRA. This guy, "Michael" seemed to know his stuff, he said, go to 1-800-o-canada (Service Canada) Then it is the number for Tax Collections (but didnt know what that number was, I was put on hold, he came back with this number- (which IS legit) 1-888-863-8657. He said that that is a "gerneral" number, and any calls to that number "feed" to the 959-2250 / 1-800-959-2270/ 1-800-931-1026 number. And that the hours were 7-11, because of EST, and they had to be open 8-8. Ok, SOUNDED sort of legit. SO I hung up. And proceded to phone the real CRA number, OF COURSE the office was CLOSED. So it shouldnt be closed, right? IF it just stream lines the calls to Mr. Zampo, Michael, and Chris Misch. And that line IS open 7-8 EST.So Folks, I would NOT tell these clowns ANYTHING. NOTHING . ZIP.. IT IS A SCAM.

They left a message on my machine, addressing me by my full name, claiming to be Revenue Canada, and asking that I call them back at 800-959-2250 between the hours of 7am-11pm (which hours immediately made me suspicious) and to have my SIN ready so that they could confirm my identity.I am glad I looked on this site before returning the call, but I am sorry for the more elderly people who will be taken in by these scammers and have their hard earned money pilfered.Why can't the government help us put real criminals behind bars?

I don't owe a thing to revenus Canada and never have... yet I get these annoying calls 2-3 times per day and hangups on my answering machine everytime. If I'm ever home when they call I'm going to give them a fake SIN # and any other info they request and see what they do with that. Has anyone tried giving them fake information to see if they call you on it? I might even say it in French just to throw an entertaining twist into the scenario!
