CAUTION********Do NOT talk to them. IF You have a Citibank card, call the number on the card. I just called Citibank to check both my personal and business cards. I had no problems. But note, they said they DID NOT CALL ME. PHISHING EXPEDITION by "800 Service". BTW there was no message. I have received calls from Citibank's fraud alert team in the past. They will leave a message. CAUTION **********
How come the only submissions saying this is legit use a first and last name?!Phishy to me. If you think you have a problem with a credit card, call the number ON the card.
Hi folks, I a adding to the information loop here. I received to hang ups from this number yesterday--neither one left a message. Today when I noticed the missed calls/hangups in my phone history, I called the number on the back of my credit card--as many here have suggested. I spent a lot of time on hold while CITI customer service tried to figure out what this 800 - 950-5114 phone number is. They then told me it is the Fraud division. That's who calls us if someone has tried to use the card. I have not used it. But --get this--they are a Fortune 100 company or so I imagine, but they don't have any notes in the system of who called me or the purpose of the call. Big companies track all this info, yet it isn't there. AND why would a banking professional *not* leave a voicemail when they failed to reach me? That is not professional communication. So now I am worried that either 1) CITI has an inept employee trying to verify a fraudulent charge (inept meaning they left me no message. They could leave a generic message but they should leave something. My Credit union does this.)Or2) it could be someone who's hacked the phone system, so that the call looks like it comes from that number. I have no idea if this is possible --but it's either that --or inept CITI fraud division people. If I knew for sure I would call Verizon. (I mean we report email spam to our providers online, so i'd like to let someone know.)At least a bit more info is here now -- and if they ever call me with a real explanation ... I will update this! Thanks to all who left info here! Too bad we have to solve these mysteries on our own!
Carrielee left the best answer i found. Citi has some dumbies behind the phone that will make you feel like something isn't right.
Yes, it's a ligitmate number, we applied a credit card , Citibank called back and verify, if you don't caped back, your card probably won't get approved,
I received a text saying from 956-86 "Citi Card mail was returned to us. Please call 1-800-950-5114 to update your address. To opt out reply STOP, HELP for help"As I have my Citi account in India and was expecting the card delivery at my Indian address, I thought it is a toll free number and so got the notification and so called on the same number. But that lady asked me complete SSN, I PROVIDED the complete SSN but I found it fishy. Now, after providing the complete details, I really want to report this
I got a call from 1-800-950-4114, it was a recorded message that stated my name and said there was a "citi" card that could not be delivered to my address ... I looked online for the real citibank ph#. The real Citibank ph# is 1-800-950-5114. So the phone call from 1-800-950-4114 is a scam. The 1-800-950-4114 number tells you to contact them back at the 1-800-950-5114, but it is still a scam call. If you call the 1-800-950-4114 number it directs you to nothing having to do with Citibank, for example it directs you to T-Mobile, an offer for a free $100 gift card if you pay a fee, etc .... It is a SCAM, do not provide any of your information!!
I got a text from 95686, Citi Card mail was returned to us. Please call 1-800-950-5114 to update your address. First ... I don't have a Citi card. Second ... I don't have a Citi Card. Like all others have said, call the number on the back of your cards. Don't call the numbers directly from emails or texts.
Called this number back. A series of sales promotions is played. If you press #, a new sales promotion starts. If you press '1' then you are transferred to one of several sales numbers. Credit card information is requested. There is never any mention of Citibank, of which I am not a customer.
