This is a legit number. This number is HPD-related follow-up for any complaints registered either through phone calls or their Honolulu 311 app.

Voicemail was left saying its HPD calling investigating some case yet when I tried calling the number left to call back in response 808-479-5684 no answer or personalized voicemail...

Valid & safe to answer. You might want to answer it or call back if they leave a message with their direct phone number. This is a number for the City & County of Honolulu. Not specifically HPD or any one department but a number that is used across different departments. If the person calling you from this number wants to get in touch with you, he or she will leave their direct number so because this number is for calling out.

Then I call it back and..."the number you have reached is not in service."WTH!

My daughter answered a call from this number.. They told her is was HPD and needed to talk to me.. She gave them my cell # and they never called.. I returned the call and they said the service the Zoo the Blaisdell and somewhere else and the had no idea who called me... The lady said there is no one there from HPD.. I have no idea who this call was from or what they wanted...

its a City and County number. so basicly its just a number that just shows up on caller I.D. when someone from City and County like the Zoo, HPD, or Blaisdell calls, but when you call back you get a "the number you have reached is not in service"

please go to this free government website www.donotcall.gov there you can list all your cellphone and land line numbers- they will send you an email with a link to complete the request- this needs to be done within 72 hrs. There is also a link to file a complaint. Don't let this continue for another minute.

received a call today and when I called the number back, it's not in service.

A man called my son's phone from this number and asked to speak to his parent. When my son told him that I was busy and would call him back the man proceeded to tell my son "I'll just come to your house then and then she'll answer the door." My son then asked what this was regarding and was told "It's none of your business." When I finally got the phone from my son I asked who it was and he just ignored me. He said that he got my son's number from some woman and that I had used it to call her, he wouldn't give me her name. He also started asking about some girl, a 14 year old runaway. He never said who he was or his relationship to the girl. He was very rude and vague. In the end I never got his name or a legitimate number.
