Answered a call from this number and I got some fast taliking spaish recording. No one in my home speaks spanish...not do we want to. This is the United States..wanna piss me off....do this again and I'll work very hard to make sure it never happens again!
A Hispanic woman called sating she was from Nielsen's. I answered some questions about tv's and other electronic devices I have for internet or entertainment purposes and what tv provider I have. Then she asked a few questions about race and age bracket. But the last question she said was sensitive and some people get offended. I told her to go ahead and she asked if i was GAY.The answer is no but what place does that have based on the general answers I gave. She didn't ask anything about type of music, tv shows or movies.
Hmm, I must not have answered something the way they wanted, because after she asked me a set of questions (including how much time we spend on the internet and how much we spend on our pets per month) she just said thanks and asked if I wanted the 800 number to verify that she was indeed calling from Nielsen. No offer of $$ for a diary or anything of that nature.
wish I'd not given out information; thought it strange that Nielsen calls to get someone signed up...anyhow, I fell for it and you bet, nothing has come from them yet
8133669800Call all hours! Even at 9:50 at night & I have little children! Also, they hang up at times !
Nielsen.........they were calling every day, one day....3 times. I completed an FCC compliant and they stopped. I've filed these complaints before on other parasites.
Nielsen is a legit company. they try to recruit individuals to fill in a television log for one whole weeks worth of tv watching. They were going to pay me $5 which they did send up front. However if they have a demographic group which they cannot get enough television watchers from eg , me age over 60, single person household, etc. (they already know a lot about you from mining other sources, they will badger the hell out of you to get you to participate. They kept calling me, finally had to tell them very bluntly 3-4 DIFFERENT times I wou;d NOT PARTICIPATE and DONT EVER CALL ME AGAIN. I was not born yesterday. No way a paltry $5 would convince me to log all my channel surfing, etc across dozens of channels. Hearing that some were offered $30 for what sounds like the same assignment almost frosted me. more. Anyway, I if they make an offer of cashiup front that is not worth your valuable time, and you say NO, and they still send you money in advance, just keep the money. Remind them you refused to participate, Just tell them as unapproved by you postal law says it is automatically yours to keep. If they get huffy, just tell them you are reporting them to online the Federal Trade Commission, US Postal Service, & appropriate Federal & state consumer protection agencies and 1800notes. com. You might also tell them to enter their phone number(s) & take a look at the hassle & ill-will they create among the public. :-))
