Nielsen Ratings began calling as soon as I received my new phone number two months ago. I screen my calls but after their persistance, I answered. The caller stated she was doing a survey and needed to speak to the eldest person in the house, which I stated was my boyfriend, so we can be aware of the TV chanels available to us. I advised he wasn't interested and yet they keep calling, as my declination isn't enough.Now, it's my mission to tell the world about their harassment.
I have been participating in the Nielsen surveys for a long time this year alone they have sent me about 40 dollars in cash for surveys filled out and sent in. Research companies ARE EXEMPT from the do not call list. You can whine about this till you blue in the face that is just the way it is. I have worked on studies like Arbitron, which does radio ratings. Fact is this information needs to be collected and it is somebody's job to do it. The man I spoke to was polite and had only a few brief questions. Did I get my tv diary and will I be filling that out?
They called me, and it's Nielsen, and asked a couple of questions, but as soon as they find out I'm not Hispanic, it's like they're not interested in hearing what I watch anymore. I get that sometimes on surveys, too, if I don't have children. SO I guess they don't want REAL demographics, just ones that will support whatever their current task is. I don't mind that they call though.
WRONG!! I Never filled out a survey Nor applied for a survey.They just try to sucker you in!! I don't watch enough "stupid box" to do one anyway. NOT INTERESTED!!
Nielson Ratings on caller ID. SO far twice today, 10:38 PM!!! THey have never called before today. I hope this passes soon. We are on the DNC list also.
