Now that I know its Neilsen Ratings I will answer. I have never had them call me before. I have done a few surveys online and one in the mail for them and I have always been paid for them all. $5 is $5. If they are calling you its because you have at some point done a survey for them in the past or signed up for a survey company. I remember when I filled out the info for them it asked what I was willing to do, mail, email, or phone surveys. Perhaps someone else signed up who had your phone number before you did, I know Wal-Mart auto center was calling me for some reason swearing I was someone else, finally figured out they had my number before me, and I have had this number for years!
If it were nothing but a simple phone call, I'd agree. But it is many per day and per night promising to lower your credit card rates, get you better deals on your utilities, claim a prize in a sweepstakes you never entered, help some Nigerian Prince get his money out of Nigeria.... ad nauseam. In other words, they are looking for a path into your pocket. The only folks who would not be bothered by this barrage of junk calls are people who view their own time as worthless.I have all calls from numbers not in my phone book automatically routed to Voicemail but only after they press a random digit (0 - 9). This eliminates all ROBOCALLS. If the correct digit is pressed then they get to voicemail. I filter out >100 calls per week this way. I add numbers to my phone book as new friends and valid contacts enter my life.Works like a charm....
I have been a member of the Nielson Ratings for several years. I complete surveys on line and in the the mail, not very often, only maybe once a month, once every couple of months...they don't harass you . I have been rewarded with cash every time. I wish I had known it was them calling me this morning because I would have answered. It's the first time they have ever called me and it's no problem. I certainly don't make a living off of this but a ten dollar bill in the mail once in a while is a nice little perk. Anything that comes in the mail to me in the way of a survey always has cash attached to it. Nielson's is usually looking for your opinions of TV shows. I suspect they have everything to do with what shows are discontinued. I think the problem here is that so many telemarketers are harassing people today. I have one that calls three or four times a day and they don't seem to care that I am on the DN call registry, and I don't want to talk to them, they make it impossible for me to take the calls I do want. Nielsen should smarten up and allow their identity to be displayed on caller I.D. They might actually get more responses.
They have been calling several times a day for the past week and at very incovienient times. This has happened before and I had asked for them to stop. Ovbiously they didn't
813-366-9800 called 1:54PM on 21 Dec 2016. CID reads Nielsen Ratings. No message. Also calls from (813) 366-9893; Call 800-237-8611 to be removed from list.
Nielson TV Ratings is harassing me with phone calls usually at 9 pm or 11:30 am. I told them that my number is on a DNC list. They responded that this does not apply to them as they are doing research (but don't they sell their reserach product?). However, I told them that I do not wish to receive any calls from them. This did not stop them. They are still calling. I filed a complaint at www.donotcall.gov/
