just got a call from a lady sounding very professional but.........its 9:15 p.m. introducing herself and ask me to take a survey. Was anyone home who could do that. I asked her what the time was and then she said....Hello, Hello.....I m requesting to be put on the do not call list 915 PM!
Called and asked about cable or dish connections. Wanted to know if any movie channels were subscribed to. Said he was calling from Kentucky.
I was at work and I had a phone call on my caller ID with no message. I tracked the phone number to this website. I simply use my answering machine when I am home and luckily I still have dial up so if I am on the internet, they can't reach me. Otherwise I screen my calls on my caller ID and answering machine. I have reported them to the FCC, however it like the FTC for gas prices is totally useless, as they don't even respond to my complaints.
Nielsen Ratings - They offered me $30 to fill out what I watch on TV for an upcoming week. They promised a $30 check that would come with their materials. I opened up the materials when they arrived, and they had actually enclosed $30 in cash. I was happy to have the money. I returned the notebooks at the end of the week, postage paid by them, and I haven't heard from them since.
They just called me. I picked up, didn't sound professional at all so I lied for fun. I told them all I watched were sports and that I was over fifty.Funny thing is that I was watching TV, loudly, while on the phone with her. It definitely wasn't sports. :) I could have some fun with this if I get another call.
Nielsen Ratings: kept calling till we answered! We did the Neilsen Ratings Survey back around 2000 or 2001, when we lived in another town with different phone number. They sent us the booklets to use and included a crisp $1 bill - which we didn't know we were getting - should have been one for each TV as far as we're concerned (don't admit to more than one TV, they'll send more than one booklet (but still only $1) this is how they get away with not being in trouble with Do Not Call.gov. They are not selling anything - just being annoying till they get what they want. They called us spuratically last fall until I finally spoke to them in late October. I told them we don't watch TV, didn't own a TV anymore. No reason for them to call us anymore. They quit calling. A co-worker was getting the same calls but had been afraid of answering, once she knew I answered and it was legit, she didn't want to do the survey but wanted the calls to stop, so she answered and told them they were calling Nursing Home and she was in the room of a deaf and blind elderly man, just about to change his diaper. They quit calling.
These people called on 5-27-08 at 4:00 PM. My daughter told them she did not have time to talk as it was getting ready to storm and we were busy getting our dogs in. They called back at 6:20 PM and when my husband answered the phone, they hung up. We are also on the Do Not Call List.
