I am getting phone calls daily from 813-881-1700 and they leave no message. I answered one time and they hung up. I, too, will never give to Red Cross again if they are a middle man and keep some of the profit.
They don't quit calling even after being told to take my number off the list. I've been getting the calls for months!
Have been called repetedly by CallerID 813-881-1700 in the early evening. When I answer - there is no response. Annoying!
call from 813-881-1700 earlier this week; I hit 'call return' and got a young man claiming to be in Orlando (area code 407) collecting clothing for Red Cross. Coincidental??? We had fraudulent $1.00 pre-authorization charge on credit card, exact date of call, within 3 minutes of when this call was placed. Fraud prevention caught the crazy charge but thinks there's a connection between the calls. (warning: do not give your first or last name on answering machine- phishers can add it to what they already have and get a complete picture with which to perpetuate fraud)Schmidt Enterprises, Tampa, Florida, P.O. Box address is who this phone is listed to; business search shows them on Memorial Highway with the 881-1700 # listed, as well as a fax line. there's something very fishy about the entire situation.
This number calls us VERY frequently but never leaves a message. With regret, we no longer donate to the Red Cross, due to their association with this nuisance company.Caller ID says "MERCHANDISE PIC."We are on the federal do-not-call list.
Called twice so far-yesterday and today and left no message. We are also on the do not call list but as far as I know charities and political organizations are allowed to call sooooo....I'm sure the only way to get Merchandise Pic to stop calling (if possible) is to call them back, speak with a live person, and request to be put on their do not call list.
ok people seriously here your best bet is to cal the company direct and asked to be taken off of the call list it should take them 30 days and you may stil get cals during the pending time. This is a charity so the do not cal list does not aply to them. Technically if the give 8% of the money they colect they are covered and the do not cal list does not apply. Besides if you think you are giving 100% of your money when ever you donate your kind of nieve because this never happens. Look into the charities most good ones give 60 to 80% and use the rest for overhead. So if you are really worried about where your money goes read the stuff the charities send even not for proffits stil cant put he whole amount into the funds because they need to pay for operating expences. For me It dont bother me either way no matter where I donate my unwanted stuff it will help out one way or another and even the people calling need to be paid so Im not really to worried about it.
Largo said "random company". He referred to the callers, not to Red Cross. Learn to read. This company makes profit and gives percentage of it to Red Cross. There is no reason why they should be harassing people by calling and hanging up or not leaving a message which is what they are doing to me. They just earned a spot on the black list on my smartphone that just hangs up on them when they call.
