You guys have to understand the "DO NOT CALL" lists don't apply in this case. Peak is operating under license from your local dealer, which at some point (even if you no longer have the car), you DID have a working business relationship with. The federal law states unsolicited calls are illegal, but this doesn't constitute "unsolicited" since you had a relationship with that dealership at some point. It's stupid and shouldn't be right, but it is the law. Technically they're in the clear. I think it speaks volumes about the car dealerships that use this service, though. Clearly this company has little regard for the customer. The best way to complain is to your dealership, not Peak. They don't care - they get paid by the dealerships, not you. If you want to complain effectively, complain to your service advisor at your dealership.
Consumer is correct, but fails to mention a time limit. I cannot speak for the US rules, but in Canada, they can do so for (I believe) 18 months after the business. This is not to say that one cannot call to be added to their "internal" do not call list, which (in Canada) they also have to keep and maintain.
Beth, I am a customer who has *always* answered your 1-800 number phone calls. Here was my experience:Day 1: I answer, no answer. dead airDay 2: I answer, this time I am hung up on when I say "hello" - I can hear the person hang up on meDay 4: I answer, again, I am hung up on when I answer.Day 5: I answer, this time someone tries to schedule 70k service for a car I sold when it had 50k on it. I asked your operator that they remove me from the list as I no longer own that car and do not wish to receive calls.Day 6: I get another call. This time I do NOT answer. What I want to know is: if you're really only trying to satisfy survey and service appointment requests, why do you guys hang up on ME when I answer? Why you guys can't get your information correct? Why can't you honor people's requests to be removed? People being pitched warranties on CPO cars they just bought, service scheduling attempts for cars people don't even own, etc. I'm an attorney and from reading all these comments, I think we might have a case for a class-action suit here.
What Amanda said is correct -If it's not important enough for you to leave a message, it's not important enough for me to answer! I keep getting the calls when I'm in meetings or in the underground parking garage where I don't get service, so I'm always missing the actual calls but get notification of the missed call. They never leave a voicemail though so I never know what it is about.A simple voicemail on the first attempt will go a long way toward improving my impression of your company in this fiasco. Repeated calls without a voicemail are just rude. That is what creditors do, and I don't owe you any money.
Haha, that's awesome! I usually say "Well, why would I schedule service with you if as soon as I hang up the phone, I'm going to kill myself...... that is, unless you can talk me out of it?"Make THEM work for YOU! :D
I've received six phone calls now and I've answered every single one. Twice I've had nobody there, thrice I've been hung up on after I answered, and once I didn't even bother to answer at all. No message was left, and that was today. I'm sure I'll continue to get calls tomorrow & into the future. :rolleyes:Worst automotive scheduling service ever! I'm definitely letting my local dealership know about this...Peak may not care what we think or say because we don't pay Peak. But if dealerships stop using them due to their rude & poor business practices, it will trickle down. Dealerships will stop hiring Peak for their solicitation needs if the dealerships are losing customers due to the poor Peak experiences.
beth i called that number last week and asked to be removed, but they're still calling. i wouldn't post this information unless you guys intend to honor it
I bought a VW from Alexandria VW in Alexandria, VA a while ago, I no longer own it. Every time I pick up this call some woman (different each time) says "I'm sorry, I have the wrong number). This last call, I managed to get some answers out of her.She says:- Calling on behalf of VW about a mileage service- Her system is down and she couldn't see any info (yet when I pushed a bit more, she happened to know my name)
