Have been getting calls from this company just a name and ext 1 that I can't understand just that need to talk nothing what it is about or anything else

Very rude person stated I owed a debt from 1999, and they received my information from INDEPENDENCE RECEIVABLES CORP, a "debt buyer". Would not release any information to me but hounded me for my new last name and my current mailing address. I phoned the number back to ask information on the company, and the receptionist did not answer questions, rather, transferred my call back to the rude representative. The third call I made to them, conversation got heated as I explained it is against the law to harrass people at work (he had promised to call me every week about this "debt", which does NOT show up on my credit report - - otherwise I would've paid it!) and also collect a debt more than 7 years old and that there was no collection letter sent regarding this "debt". The representative said almost word for word : "so for social security number XXX-XX-XXXX (yes, he read my correct social to me!), debtor is refuting the charges". My answer? Without proof I own this debt, you damn betcha? Can anyone suggest action I can take to block this number from calling my WORK PHONE?????

Email me at my first and last name @ gmail.com and give me a piece of your mind jerk. You have no idea what circumstances lie under a situation like this and to list my name on a public board is really disrespectful. It's not like I gave anyone your phone number and it is not my fault they got the number wrong. Email me and tell me who the creditor was and I will track them down to see what it is about. Turn me in? WTF? Have you ever heard of blocking a number?

I received a call from this number at work today. It was for a recent employee. The man who called sounded very upset that he did not have the correct number. Where he is calling is a law firm that does collections. It sounds to me like a fly by night collection agency. Most of the people working there are money hungry. They use tactics of collecting that are FDCPA infractions. They are not allowed to give you any info on why they are calling. Their job as third party collection agency doesn't give them much leverage in the business. So they break laws consistently to make their bonuses. FDCPA laws are available all over the internet if you would like to educate yourself more on what they are not allowed to do.

Received a call on my cell from a Kay Scott from # 832-476-1739. She left a Message on my voicemail for My husband and demanding that he call her back immediately without saying what for but making it sound like as if he was in some kind of trouble. So when I called the number back to see what it was about they would not answer my questions or tell me who they were or what they wanted. They just kept asking me if so and so was my husband. When I didn't answer them they hung up on me. These people are obviously trying to scare and scam people out of their money making them believe they owe some kind of debt.

Got a call from this company but the woman on the line was hard to understand. Said her name was Miss somethingoranother and it was important I return her all today. I've been getting these calls for months. The calls stopped for about a week earlier this month and started back up.

Called today looking for someone whom I have received numerous calls for. This was "Ms Lewis" and she said she was given this number as a contact for "Brittany". Told her she had a wrong number. Caller ID comes through as just "Texas".

A very agressive person keeps calling stating that it is imperative that I speak with you. However they don't leave an appropriate message as to why they are calling quite rude.

Had several calls from these people looking for my partner, they call my business cell phone. Looking for her we are both here on Business working visa's and do not have the facility to get credit from anyone. As we are not US citizens, so do not have any credit cards or any credit in the US. Always pay with UK credit cards or cash, so can not possibly owe anyone anything.
