Called and said I was a person of interest in an important matter. Wrong number so they asked if I knew that person and I said no they said well ok then the court can deal with them directly. Very rude.
Received a call from this number, stating the same thing "person of interest". Mentioned the county I use to live in and taking me to court. Gave me a couple different names of PDL (pay day loan) companies which I never heard of and they have A.K.A. names too. I told her no matter how many times I send PIF (paid in full) letters to companies like this, eventually I get more. I fell for this scam once but never again. Once they scare you to pay once, they think they have you, sell your information to the next company and they try to get you again. This is number 36 for companies who have called me regarding the same thing. Non of them have taken me to court, and I have invited them to. Once one of them does, I will play back the recorded message to the judge and I will be able to collect $1000 from them for this type of harassment!
UPDATE: I called them back again and asked for the original creditor contact information and all they could give me was a name and told me I had to look up the rest. I "looked up the rest" and the number is not in service, no other information is available. I asked them how they got my personal information and she said from my file, I asked where did you get my file and she could not answer the question. Asked to speak with her boss, and he was not there, how convenient!
I received a call from this # and they did not even have the right person. I let them know they had better remove my name from their list......and she hung up on me
