This is State Farm. I have an outstanding claim with them. They called without leaving a message, but as I was waiting for the call, I called back and verified. Not sure why they did not leave a message, but I told them not to make blind calls like that without leaving a message and identifying themselves, or I would assume they were telemarketers. Claims adjuster said she would note that in my file.

OK, MY EXPERIENCE IS EVEN CRAZIER... THIS NUMBER CALLED ME AND LEFT A MESSAGE AND CLAIM NUMBER. I CALLED BACK AND THEY IDENTIFIED THEMSELVES AS STATE FARM CLAIMS. THEY CLAIMED THAT SOMEONE FILED A CLAIM THAT THEY HIT MY CAR A FEW DAYS AGO. MY CAR WAS IN THE GARAGE ALL WEEK THAT WEEK AND NEVER LEFT. LISTEN TO THIS... THEY SAID THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT KIND OF CAR I HAD OR MY PLATE NUMBER. WHEN I ASKED WHAT CITY WAS THIS ACCIDENT, SHE WOULDNT TELL ME. SHE SAID THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED IN THE DRIVEWAY, BUT WOULDNT SAY WHOSE DRIVEWAY OR WHERE. I TOLD HER THAT IT SOUNDS TO ME THAT SOMEONE TOOK MY NAME AND TELEPHONE NUMBER AND MADE UP A BOGUS ACCIDENT AND WANT A PAYOFF TO GO TO A FRIEND PRETENDING TO BE ME. SHE DIDNT KNOW MY ADDRESS EITHER. THIS IS MOST SUSPICIOUS TO ME. I CONTACTED MY INSURANCE COMPANY TO DEAL WITH THEM.

Received a call from this number. Didn't answer. They left a voicemail stating it was State Farm regarding a claim. The message was for an individual other than me. I returned the call and corrected the error.
