Only shills come here to report "legitmate" calls. Beware - this sounds like a scam.
they are absolutely legit. I heard about it from clark howards website and signed up. Its a free monitoring system that monitors your id and your kids id. You get on their site and ask for an update and they call saying if its clear or if theres a problem. Legit no scam and free. Trust me.
Just want to reiterate this is a legitimate company--I was enrolled for free after a data theft with my health insurance company (and then again with my next insurance company!). I don't actually feel it's been a helpful service, but I did have to enroll, so I don't know why you'd receive these messages if you're not a member. I'd just call the company back and talk to a representative and see what's going on.
I have ALL Clear because my information was stolen by a doctor's office employee. The doctor's office is paying for me to have ALL Clear, which is a credit card security monitoring system alerts me when someone tries to use my credit, like opening an account. For me, it is a legit call becuase I tried to open an account at a department store yesterday, I was out of town. By reading everyone's posts I realize this is why they are calling me. Thought I would let others now.
I'd absolutely believe you. However, I received the message and it didn't say who was calling or why. I just heard my own voice played back to me (and I didn't remember I provided that security feature before). I thought that was a little funny and suspicious, so I googled the number, and now that I see it's from AllClear/Debix, I remember making the security recording where I stated my name.
That's what this board function is all about. Getting all the facts in by everyone so that each can make an informed or at least better decision. The legitimate businesses, as long as they are using ethical business practices, deserve recongnition also. The scammers can be sniffed out and burned at the stake on the board. Thanks to all for posting.
This is in referrance to recent hospital patient records that were stolen. This is a protection service that the hospital is providing to certain patients whose information/files were in jepardy when files were taken. this is a free service provided for 2 years since patient social security numbers ..addresses and personal information have been taken.
Clear ID is formerly known as Debix. The company monitors your credit report. They only contact you when there is activity (suspicious) in your credit report that they think you need to be aware of. I was signed up to Debix by my health insurance due to security breach to their system. Thanks to some of the postings, I realized who this company was and that it was a legitimate call.
I received a call from this number saying they were Alert All Clear I.D. and that the University of San Diego Medical Center had a breach last year and did I remember. Yes, some records were compromised and mine may have been included. So they gave me identity theft coverage for a period (?) of time. This caller made me think I had opened up a savings or checking account in May and had no balance and I knew I hadn't but after much aggravation on both sides it turned out it was with USbank for REI. Had he said that in the beginning, it would have rung a bell.I did open an REI account. Maybe better it had not happened that way or I may have been more forth coming. He kept trying to say he needed my social security number as the last four numbers he gave me were my husband's, who was not on the account as he doesn't shop on the internet. The account was only in my name. That was peculiar as I had given my S.S. number when applying for the credit card. The number he gave me to call USBank I could not connect as the operator told me I couldn't connect from my location. After much frustration on both sides he was going to give me a U.S. Bank number to call and when I went to get a pen and paper either I cut us off or he hung up. He never called me back.
