It's Marketing BS. Enrolled when Home Depot got hacked and it was free. Now the coverage is coming to an end and they want to sign you up to start paying.

Why are they calling me?

Same thing just happened to me. My phone rang about 4 times. Went to my voicemail and they left a message and used my recording of my name to input my name into the voicemail. It was weird to listen to a voicemail where my voice is on it. They were calling for ALL CLEAR ID as well and wanted me to call back. I deleted the voicemail.

Great idea for a business - hack into big companies' computers and then force them to pay for service so they can "monitor" all the customers' info that was hacked. Have been dealing with this company for almost 2 years and every contact smells fishy.

So what happens when we real people report legitimate calls? How would one report a legitimate number, in your world?

This is a legitimate call. AllCear ID was contracted with by my husband's company when Anthem's files were breached, giving two years of free credit monitoring. They send an email and also call. The message was that there was no attempts to breach his credit.

Genuine call from identity protection company. You have to sign up with them to actually get these calls. For me, my health insurance company was hacked and offered free identity protection services through them, for 1-2 years. I signed up and while signing up they ask your phone number and they will give an automated call to confirm, in which you have to record a phrase (which will be played back on phone next time you try login into their website) and 4 digit pin. After sign up every time you try to login into their website, they first ring your phone and replay your passphrase voice recording and then ask for 4 digit pin. If entered correctly then only they allow login into their website. Basically it’s multi factor authentication for their website. Also guessing (since I never got call besides for login attempts) if they detect something and need to notify, they might call and authenticate before proceeding.

Got a call from this number - I don't have BCBS insurance - I don't have any credit cards - so why would they even call me. Something does not sound right - you may think you have credit monitoring for something but I would be watching my own credit report for something else going on
