Jenn, yes I use First Niagara. Curiously, with the merge now I wonder was there some selling of information or a leak. All of my credit is in good standing, and I do not have any debt with First Niagara or New Alliance, so for me I am 100% positive it is not a collection call. These phone calls still do not seem legitimate, perhaps if every one else also uses either of these banks, they can call CS and stop these calls. If in the off chance that it is a legitimate customer survey I would be agitated enough to withdraw all of my funds and move to a different bank.
Answered the phone this afternoon. Claimed they were calling from Milton Hydro and doing a survey.
No, 855 is a toll-free number just like 800, 888, 877 and 866. When 855 is used-up, I suspect the next toll-free area code will be 844.
Td bank salesman drumming for cc business.....Was quite polite as i explained that number no longer belonged that personsaid would remove frm a "list
I also had a call from them today about an on-line bank survey and I could win a Blackberry. After second thoughts I called the bank manager who told me they never contact clients by e-mail, never use third parties for research and never of prizes for completing surveys. Checked my e-mails and it (the e-mail) had been automatically sent to my junk mail box.
They just called me, and hung up...I'm on a land line in Canada for Petes Sake...had other calls as well with a 866 area code.
I don' t know why these people are calling me, but I don't have anything you want so stop calling!! I can't even call back after I miss the call because the line is always busy. wth.
You can't get charged when you are called. It doesn't work that way folks. Anybody who says that is making it up and spews it out like they are an expert. People think it's true...cause they read it on the Internet!! The only way you would be charged is if you pay on a per minute basis for use...and guess what? That concept would apply to all calls.
