Folks: any time the caller ID says Consumer Alert/Svcs/Aid... or Senior Benefits or Senior anything else... or Life Line/Alert... or Auto_Care... Info Survey... or any obvious scam number... don't answer or encourage them! Blowing a whistle, cussing, yelling, fabricating information about yourself, telling them to stop, or trying to take up their time for spite, will only inspire them to try harder to harm you. Don't play chicken with them. They're predators. Be the smart adult, and don't answer! And by the way, bohocasis, it doesn't matter which number you hit, they all go to the same scammer. Congratulations, you've just informed them you are vulnerable, and that your number is working. Not only that, but sometimes when you press any button, you will find an added charge on your phone bill!

There is no "further action" that will help, other than not answering, so don't make hollow threats. The govt isn't gonna be there for you. Asking a criminal to be nice and remove you from his list is like asking a burglar politely to stop stealing your stuff. You wouldn't open the door if a criminal knocked, you wouldn't even speak to him through the door. So why do you speak to phone scammers? There is no difference, they're both predators. And, as in real life, the "cops" won't be there in time. Lesrn to screen your calls by checking here first. And in my humble opinion, you should not block the number, or they will continue to fabricate new ones that will get in under your radar at least once each. As the Irish say, " better the devil you know than the devil you don't."

You do NOT want to redirect these calls to the police or anyone else! The redirected call will be traced back to you and then YOU will be in trouble. Just get a call blocker, ignore them, or disconnect immediately. Don't speak with them (they don't care that you know they're scam artists) and do not send the call to anyone else unless you have the permission of that party.
