Left message and this # saying to call my bank about questionable charges to my debit card ending w/xxxx and to call this # but be sure and have my card handy.
I rec'd the same message; called it back got an automated system asking me for my 16-digit visa #.............. I called my bank and they are reporting it
I had this automated call claiming to be Visa Fraud Protection Services thru my bank. I called my bank's customer service to verify whether this was a legitimate number that they use. They said it IS. So I called it back and went thru the verification process and they listed several small charges to my account from places like "MSINutraceuti", Smart Science Lab, member-cs.com (that one turns out to be 365billing.com) e-chargecs.net, & usenext. I didn't recognize any of them. I had just placed an order online the night before, but the place didn't disclose any billing service charge I should expect to see.Bottom line, I have canceled my card and am getting a new one. SHEESH!!!
You should feel lucky, I was called in by my boss to explain $26,000.00 charges by NSINutraceuti and what it was for. I never heard of them.
I was concerned about this automated message also. They left messages 4x in one day. However, after cautiously phoning the number, I am now convinced that it is legitimate. If you choose to call this 1-866 number, simply press zero to talk to a human rather than entering your visa number thru the key pad. Then YOU can be in charge & ask THEM any questions you like first in order to verify they're authenticity. I found them to be very helpful & they asked me nothing that could be used to steal my info. They are simply a firm hired by your visa company to monitor any suspicious purchases made on your visa check card. In my case, it was a $40 online purchase that looked fishy but turned out to be a legit purchase made by myself.
Like Roxy above, I pressed "0" after they requested my card number. Bit of a pause, then a nice fellow got on the line, from Visa fraud prevention. Didn't have to give my card number, I did have to give last 4 digits of SS number. He told me what I had just purchased online, and asked, did I authorize that? So, it's a good thing!
This is a SCAM!!!!!! If this number calls you---get a hold of your bank right away. Check your online statement and cancel your card right away. Do not wait.
This is a SCAMMMMMMMMMMMM. My bank listened to the message and declared it a fraudulent call. Over 1200 dollars was outstanding on my bank account. My bank cancelled card. Scam, scam, scam. You idiots who are saying this is legit---are you stupid?? Or do you just work for the Visa Fraud Prevention.
Call your bank right away when you get this phone call. Do not trust these other posts saying this is a legit company. This is a fraud. I work for visa and we would never ask you for your credit card number over the phone, nor would we record it on a voice promt message. Are you kidding? Secondly---go ahead a push zero for assistance on this call. Ask them to give you their visa card number and see what kind of reaction you get.
This was legit. It was my bank calling to verify charges that just went thru.
