Were you involved in some sort of accident or accident where you had to report a health care claim, well if so then it probably was the same 'research company'
i got a call from them as well, due to a united healthcare claim for xrays. they do this to try to get out of paying the claim - if they can find someone else to blame they will try to force that other person to pay. if it was a car crash and you have car insurance, they'll try to get the car insurance to pay for it. if you fell down in a wal-mart, they'll try to get wal-mart's insurance to pay for it. that sort of thing. there was no one else to blame for the xrays, so they said "ok we'll process the claim" and that was the end of the story.
This is a company does work for UnitedHealthcare. It was an automatic system and then a person got on the phone. They wanted to know if my hubby's recent doctor visits for his back were from a car accident or work related accident
It is from Ingenix and they do work for United Healthcare. They left a message and I got an automated machine when I called back. They do ask those questions about if this is due to an accident or anything. Then they tell you that the will process your claim. I got the impression that they would not process it if I had not called back.
Call from Ingenix, making sure the recent MRI/Ultrasound I had was not workers comp related.
I received a message from Ingenix regarding my UHC claim. They gave me a claim # and this phone number to call back. I called back and it was just an automated call asking if my injury was related to any type of injury outside of my home, i.e. car accident or injury at work or other place. I didn't talk to anyone, just answered the automated questions and at the end they said they'd tell UHC to process my claim according to my benefits. All of my answers to their questions was no, btw.
This is some third party performing work on behalf of health insurers (like United Healthcare). They call you, you initially "speak" with a computer which gives you a claim number, and you are then connected to a human being. The rep asks you a few questions like "Was your MRI needed because of an accident?" or "Did the injury occur at work?" If your answers to these questions are "no," they then tell you they will recommend to UHC to process your claim according to your benefits plan. If your answer is "yes," I'm guessing they will have some follow up questions and may even deny your claim (because it should be submitted to a workers' comp insurance carrier). I would answer this call (i.e., it's not a solicitation).
Ingenix is looking to ask you questions regarding your insurance claims through United Health Care. They want to make sure that your recents claims are not due to an accident or work related. The company really should have their number appear on caller id instead of coming up unavaliable.
Ingenix is contacted through United Health Care. They want to make sure that your recents claims are not due to an accident or anything work related. They did not leave a message either. I agree with Brandon. They should have their name appear when trying to contact someone. It just so happened I called them back, thought is was a telemarketer.
