got the same call, and automated message saying that I had an overdue account with UPS... Fraud as I don't deal with UPS and don't even have an account with them... I have filed a report with the local RCMP about this scam.

Same thing happened to me. Don't have a UPS number and I have not sent or received anything to Canada. Message is a recorded one that says I owe Canadian Customs Duties. These guys have to be scammers. Caller ID is Unknown Number with Unknown Person. I am not going to waste my time calling them back.

I got a call from this number about an unpaid UPS bill and called them back with my VISA number. After giving it some thought I called VISA to see if this was a scam but they said they could see the transaction and verified to me that the merchant code was legitimate. I am planning to call UPS back to send me a written receipt to set my mind at ease. VISA basically told me this didn't sound suspicious to them.

They're legitimate. I called them back, and I gave them an invoice number that I had, and they verified what the contents of the package I got were with that invoice number. It's UPS - they delivered something to me a month ago, I paid for it, and now they're trying to charge me more for it because apparently they were two separate shipments.

Message left on my answering machine...."This is UPS...if I Have reached the Accounts Payable Office please press 1...this message will repeat...and it did! Called UPS....I have no outstanding debts and they are reporting the call!

mine was a legit call from UPS.called and got the details sorted out...looked suspicious but in the end it was accurate.

I also can confirm this as being legitimate. I received an "outstanding amount due" bill from UPS. I had paid the postage at the door, but the credit card number was keyed in improperly so a month later they come to me asking for the amount. I received the bill and the phone calls at the same time, called them and made the payment, received the confirmation number. They were able to describe the details of the shipment.

UPC account payable department called about outstanding Customs fees for parcel received from USA.

Same as Greg. They could immediately look up my account with no other information except my account/invoice number. They theorized that the driver keyed in the wrong credit card info.By the way, they charged me $34 CDN customs on a $60 USD book. So, the call wasn't a scam, but the way UPS operates is definitely a scam!
