Got a call - didn't recognize the number, so didn't pick it up. These are usually scammers, so its best not to pick up and then block the call, or save it with the contact name: "Don't Answer"869 is area code for St. Kitts and Nevis in the Carribean... but this is no guarantee that is where they are calling from. When you receive a phone call from 999-9999, it is from one of three possibilities:You are being called by a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) or Internet Phone. Since these calls are placed over the Internet, the provider does not always send the true phone number or area code.The phone call is coming from an international number.The caller is using a calling card, calling through an operator or another non-direct dial method. Since the caller is not dialing your number directly, the caller’s is number is not available.

this is the 2nd call for me from this number. The first time i answered it. all i heard was a lot of chatting in the back ground in a foreign language i did not recognize. Today i just rejected the call and placed a do not answer block on the call. It will just dump into oblivion as i wish all these scammers would do.

Even though I didn't recognize the number I answered. James was calling me about my computer. I told him that I was all set and knew about his scam. Have received several of these calls at work where they say they are tech support and need access to your computer so they can fix the trouble.

They call saying my computer needs fixing then they charge a fee. This is a scam.

"Dave" wanted to fix my computer. I said some really racially offensive things to him and he hung up. I wonder why.

It could be a phone scam. I just got a call from this number. I tried calling it back, but because I have a month to month service with Virgin Mobile that is prepaid only for minutes, but nothing extra, Virgin Mobile said I did not have enough money in my account to place this call. I still have adequate minutes to place regular phone calls, but not for collect calls.

I live in PA & I just received a call from 869-999-9999, but I did not answer because I do not know anyone, nor would expect a call from anyone in St.kitts. I don't think I could be charged just from answering a call, but I would have hung up the minute I saw they were soliciting anything. Good to see other comments here.

Have received 2 calls fro 869-999-9999. It is obviously a scam of some sort. Don't answer, and block further calls if you can.

called as DEEP TECH support for microsoft, hung up on them.

I am receiving several calls a day, all hours of the day & night from 1-869-999-9999. I only answered once briefly, heard a voice (could have been a recording) with non-English accent, and hung up immediately. Thought by answering once the calls would stop but they have not. Annoying. Never a message so it's certainly not legit. If someone wanted to speak with me this badly they would leave a message. Cannot figure out how to stop. Do not Call registry does not apply to international scam calls.
