Ummm I get like 3 calls a day from this number and various other numbers saying to call this number back. I haven't had an activated debit or credit card with my bank in about 5 years or so.... So this cannot be legit. My accounts have no pending transactions or holds and has no excessive charges to the account... I've been getting this call for about a month now and absolutely nothing wrong with my account. They have used both the name Tech Plus Fraud Prevention Center and Card Holder Services Fraud Detection Center in their voicemails.
This is a legitimate company didn't trust it initially so i called my bank directly and turns out someone was trying to use my card # online to make purchases.
Okay so, today while driving I got a call from this number. I on general principals do not answer numbers without a caller ID, especially 800/866/877 numbers. I called it back and a robot voice asked me for a case number, which I did not have as I didn't answer the call and they left no message. After going through that loop of it asking me again and again for a case number eventually I got a person, who asked me for a case number. I explained why I was calling and the man said he was with fraud detection with "your bank" That's the biggest red flag when they can't say the name of the bank, just "your bank". He asked for information which I told him I was not comfortable giving because I did not know if he was associated with my bank. He told me I could call the bank instead and ended the call.So I called my bank and told the lady there what happened and she agreed that it sounded suspicious. After giving her my card number and verifying my identity, she looked into it, and there was a fraud lock on my card due to a few charges, I verified them all as charges I made. She said that I was right to be suspicious however, she would have done the same. So, yes, the number is legitimate, but they do behave in a suspicious matter. When in doubt, call your bank instead, so you at least KNOW the person you're talking to is associated with them.
*(877)253-8964* I received a call from this number and they left a message claiming to be a part of my Bank's fraud dept. I called my bank after checking my account online and it appeared to be the same company. How unnerving it is to receive a call like that because it looks like BS. I had ordered some items with Amazon and they charged me separately for every item. Wasn't high dollar stuff, just about 5 or 6 items. I had another bank a few years ago and said they put a hold on my debit card for the exact same thing. I was pissed because it was payday and they cut me off from my funds without my permission.
These people are legit. They are a fraud protection company that banks contract with. They will call when something doesn't seem legit to verify that it's you making the transactions. They have saved me before with the Target and Home Depot hacks. They will identify themselves as the fraud detection center from your bank. Be grateful that they are good.
This is legitimate. My credit union used this fraud protection service for my card. I provided them with my zip code -- nothing else. They, in turn, had me acknowledge specific transactions. I also confirmed this with my bank.
This is definitely a fraudulent company. They said they were from Columbia bank and my son had a problem with his account. Would give no other information except phone number and case number. I called Columbia bank. There was no problem. They do not use case numbers and if they suspected fraud, they would call from the branch where account originated. This number is a total fraud. don't be fooled. Only give out information when you dial the bank number found on your statement or back of card.
Called my bank thinking this number was part of a phishing scam. Bank told me that it's a legit MasterCard Fraud center, but if I didn't feel comfortable calling the number back my bank could handle the case through their own call center. So I did that. You should be able to as well.
I got this message and didn't answer. I waited for my answering machine and listened. Same thing you got, I called the bank and they asked about a charge on my card It turns out the charge was real and they let it through with my approval. This is a legit number. Remember call your bank using the number in the phone book or anything you get from the bank not one from a telephone call
