It's Citibank --- apparently they manage the Goodyear Credit card as well; I was late with a payment and they would call multiple times a day, never leaving a message.Seriously, Citibank, can't you simply get the [***] robot that's calling to leave a courtesy message at least saying who the call is from?!?
I have also been receiving the same calls. Then called citi. Its officially a scam. Citi is investigating and was told to call my attorney Generals office in protection dept. Its annoying and I knew something was up. I used to have a citi card for years. The 877-587-5727 would call non stop with a recording. You could tell they were just wanting more info. It would refer me to the "citi" number blah blah blah. So I just flay out called the real citui card! Just now recieved a phone call from 701-078-3773 and no one would talk. Prob the scammera again.
I am getting calls from (877) 587-5727 telling me there is an issue with my Citi credit card. It is a computer generated male and female recording. I do not, nor have I ever had a Citi credit card. Should I waste my time talking to these people or, ignore them?
I got a call from this number on my cell yesterday...my caller ID app identified it as a telemarketer by the name of Edward Aguirre. I didn't pick it up and he didn't leave a message.
Calls at least once daily, asking for payment information but won't tell us what we supposedly owe for. I've requested a paper invoice sent to my address numerous times, never receive one, so stopped answering as this is an OBVIOUS harassment & telecommunications fraud scam. When they called on Thanksgiving morning, I'd had enough & answered again. They literally refused to tell me why they were calling, just kept saying it wasn't a holiday for them & they had authorization to call; when I asked where said authorization came from and for what purpose, they would not tell me. As they had informed me it was not a holiday for them, I asked where they were calling from - India. However, they claim their name is "American Medical" and I know I have no outstanding medical bills (insured with an over-abundance in an HSA). I let them know that since they will not tell me why they are calling, that it is harassment and if the calls continue, I will be pressing harassment & telecommunications fraud charges (listing the company & individual agents). The "supervisor" I was speaking to stated he would remove my number from the call list immediately; however, I received another call from the same number later on Thanksgiving and two calls per day since. I will be pressing charges. (This is not CitiBank as reported in some posts; I have no accounts with CitiBank & they are not even claiming to be CitiBank. This is a fraudulent telecommunications scam & they are likely getting over on seniors by scaring them into giving banking information over-the-phone [my grandmother lived with me while she was in her 80's, so my number was likely connected to her at some point and if it were her answering these calls, she'd have thought she forgot to pay & bill & would have done so]. An honest bill collector will send a paper bill and tell you why they are calling, not just ask for payment information.)
The phone number 877-587-5727 has been running this CITIbank scam for years and if you're dumb enough to believe any of the shills that say otherwise, then you deserve to have your money stolen. They are out of Eastern Europe somewhere which is obvious by their terrible accents.Use the block caller feature on your cell phone and never ever give your private information to a phone number that isn't listed on the back of your card. Come on people!!!
