This is a SCAM-Goes to voice mail and asks you to leave your SSN. The social security admin will never ask you to leave your SSN on a voice mail. Letter looks very official, but it's not.

This is the work support unit for SSa Kansas City, MI. You would only need to contact it if you need your application approved when they don't do their job. Your application has to go to this office for you to call them. Unless your paperwork points you at this office don't bother to call because they can't help you. And neither can the national hotline nor your local office. They will just point you at this office, and they won't give you the number until 2 months has passed.

Called social security tonight. Had her look up the phone number for the imeditate claim unit in Kanas City. She looked up the number and it was a perfect match. So phone number 877 772 4309 is a safe number to receive and answer any question they may have. Boy was I glad to her that.
....word for that. People should look up their local Social Security office and call them to be sure.
This is a scam. It is very well done so a lot of people fall for it. The people posting here that it is legit are scammers too. They're criminals but they're not stupid.
I called and asked the SSA people at 800-772-1213 about this number (877-772-4309) and they don't know anything about it.
Got several calls from this number. Suspected something when they did not list their information on the phone id. Social Security always list on the phone their id. such as "United States Government" they do not mask their name and id number. This was the first warning sign something was not legit!!! Second was that they are not verified by the Social Security office 800-772-1213. Call them and you will see they do not have any records of this number or office in Kansas City. FAKE, FRAUD... DONT FALL FOR IT!!!!!

Claims it is Indiana Health Department doing survey. Said they will call back. Called back at 6:00 pm. Was not home to answered. Did not leave a message. Could not find this number for Indiana Health Department.
