Answered to a hang-up obviously a robo-dialer. I, for one, am quite convinced that all this crap could stop tomorrow were it not for the fact that the phone companies DGAF. They obviously know what numbers are spoofed and which are legitimate; why the hell don't they stop them?

Quick brown Fox, You are spot on. We all bought answering machines, why not use them for their intended purpose? Let the machine do the screening. Valid callers leave a message, Invalid, shady callers, do not. Everyone please join me in letting your answering machine do it's job. If no one answered, this type of solicitation would dry up quickly.

Yet another unwanted call from this invalid (spoofed) toll-free number arrived today, less than 3 weeks since the last unwanted call on Feb. 9. Once again, when the answering machine picked up, the caller left no message, just dead space. Robocallers (unlawful telemarketers) often spoof their numbers to cover their tracks while trolling the phone lines seeking gullible schmucks to victimize. Some posters report this is an out-of-work contractor (possibly unlicensed). The phone lines are already teeming with scam contractors, scam police charities, scam solar energy vendors, scam vacation giveaways, and other assorted turds. A scam is a scam is a scam.DO NOT BECOME A VICTIM OF THESE TELECRIMINALS. LET YOUR ANSWERING MACHINE TAKE THEIR PATHETIC CALLS.

Just got a call from a Loud, rude Female, asking for my husband. I said he not here. She said she can tell he not around much because my house needs a paint job. She's looking at it right now. She will send some guys over & expect a knock on my door. Scared me! Felt threaten

I managed to get a response from the caller after approx 99 calls from this number not leaving a message, me picking up the receiver and saying nothing (and getting the two tell-tale telemarketing beeps, ---->beep, pause, beep<---), before their end hanging up.I said "WHAT DO YOU WANT?" And he asked if I needed any home repairs. And he DID start getting argumentative with me.Next time I'm going to tell anyone who calls about doing home improvements: "Yeah, I'm looking to put a moat in around my telephone line. What'cha got available?"

Called ID shows 800 Service and 1-888-153-2586. I let answering my machine pick up while I was in the room. My machine recorded what sounded like a call center with both male and female telemarketers in the background. A younger female voice, no accent, did say "hello" and hung up when there was no response. Unfortunately, I could not make out the words said in the background, so do not know what the call was about.

Called Cell, I didn't pick up. They didn't leave a message. They are now blocked.

No message. These jerks are really busy today. I block numbers as they call but this was the 5th call today from scammed numbers. Ugh!

I agree strongly. I have used a call blocking phone and quickly ran into its 250 numbers call blocking limit. Telejerks seem to have an almost never ending selection of numbers from which to call, so blocking any one of them does almost nothing. So I have set my answering machine to pick up as quickly as possible, and I turn off the ringer for much of the day. Since telejerks almost never leave messages I can look at the phone to see if anyone important called. Otherwise, I am not terribly bothered anymore, though they do keep calling.

This number has called twice today. I don't recognize this number and it is not in my phone book.
