Got a call from that number; claimed to be "general contractors" wanting to know if I had any upcoming work where I'd need a handyman or some such thing. They call ALL the time. What ever happened to the Do Not Call list?
Caller didn’t leave a message on my machine and the caller id said “Out of Area” which probably means scammer/telemarketer since every legitimate business I know leaves a message. So I ran 3 reverse traces using 3 types of traces and all were completely blocked. No person or business name, no general location(City, County, State, Country etc.) and no service providers showed up. A legitimate business would never hide their identity and location by blocking a trace. This is the worse kind of scammer that is probably operating from a foreign country that is either spoofing dead phone numbers and/or using a Voip system while phishing for personal information and running a scam(s) (i.e. Home Improvement discount, Solar Energy Offer etc.). This is an extremely high tech scammer so beware. DO NOT ANSWER AND DO NOT CALL BACK FOR ANY REASON. Block and report to the proper authorities.NOTE: Only foreigners would use a 153 prefix. Any phone number with a prefix starting with "1" in the USA is a fake.
A man identified himself as Brian West on the 888 number first and told me we had wanted him to do some work for him. I told him we did not and to take this number off his list and not call again He subsequently called twice more from 310 747 4342 with him insisting I let him talk to the man of the house cause I do not know what I am talking about. I told him him this was MY telephone number and I would report him to the Attorney General which his reply go ahead they will just laugh their [***] off at you. I got off the phone and called the police. Then I saw he called again and left a voice messageWhat a witch I feel sorry for your husbandI then called the police again and gave them both numbers
Yeah typically contractor call, dad's company and he was calling to see what kind of work I needed. Dad must have whored it up with all his kids that call me with that lineAnyhow, I made an appointment. Yes please come out, I have several projects. Dude was excited.BUT.... I gave them a false name and the address to my local police department.Lmfao!!!!!Yep gonna do that every time.
Answered but caller hung up... they are probably looking to answer to only people who sound elderly so they can scam them
I asked the caller to hang on a second, his mother was getting dressed and wanted to speak with him.
I have a Panasonic phone that allows 250 blocked calls which I have now reached. Now, when I block a call, I keep the phone number in the phonebook provided on the phone and I give it the name "Blocked"! Now, when one of these creeps calls me back again, my caller I.D. not only identifies the caller as "Blocked", but also states it verbally, and I know not to answer. This has been helpful to me.
