I just got the same call.

they called on my cellphone which number I don't even give out.I didn't answer so they just hung up..

Youmail blocked, don't care who they were. They are unsolicited

Yellow pages are for businesses, so right there the guy lied to you. If he had said the White Pages, then he would have been kind of "truthful." These people are IDIOTS!!! So glad I have unplugged my home phone and occasionally check to see how many scammers have tried calling.

Good / informative reply. We never answer any call until it goes to the machine and we hear the voice of a friend or family member. Some calls are from charities we've given to, thanking us and wanting more $$$. Would sure like to know how they've gotten my / our phone number. We *never* gave it to them, just wrote out a check.

The laws are messed up. These morons call whenever they want.

Then you will ALWAYS get repeat calls. Just answer the phone and when you identify their purpose such as "...we have contractors in your neighborhood today..." just tell them that you sold your house 5 years ago and now rent or any other such LIE that you can fabricate to negate their desire to call. Although you will still continue to receive such crap calls, the number will greatly diminish. When an answering machine answers, that confirms an active line and they repeatedly call. Once they realize they've hit a dead end, they remove your # from their list which is a list that is used by many such creeps.
