i had my phone on silent so i never heard the call, but it came up as a missed call, and i didn't recognize the number so i searched it online and found this site; i have verizon ore-paid but i pay with cash, so if they were trying to get a credit card, they're out of luck.
My cell went off in the middle of school today and it was this damned number.....there havnt been any charges to my prepay account, but this is still really annoying.
I did not receive a phone call but had charges from my checking aggoucn. Received charges for over $500. Luckily I caught the quickly and my bank returned my funds.
I didn't recieve a call at all. I had these 3 charges show up on my recent activity for my Washington Mutual CC when I went on line to pay my bill. 03/26/2008 Vzwrlss*ecars Ot 888-294-6804 Ca $100.00 03/26/2008 Vzwrlss*ecars Ot 888-294-6804 Ca $250.00 03/26/2008 Vzwrlss*ecars Ot 888-294-6804 Ca $50.00 I googled it because I knew we did not charge this to our card, and found this site here. I then looked to make sure we both had our CC which we did and these cards are not carried with us. They are in a safe place at home. I have no idea how someone got our card info. Husband is on the phone with our CC company and I will see what they have to say. Like I REALLY need this stress and headache!! NOT!
Holy cow I just went and looked farther back in my recent activity log and this is what they got me for:03/09/2008 Vzwrlss*ecars Ot 888-294-6804 Ca $100.00 03/16/2008 Vzwrlss*ecars Ot 888-294-6804 Ca $100.00 03/16/2008 Vzwrlss*ecars Ot 888-294-6804 Ca $100.00 03/16/2008 Vzwrlss*ecars Ot 888-294-6804 Ca $50.00 03/19/2008 Vzwrlss*ecars Ot 888-294-6804 Ca $15.00 03/20/2008 Vzwrlss*ecars Ot 888-294-6804 Ca $50.00 03/26/2008 Vzwrlss*ecars Ot 888-294-6804 Ca $15.00 03/26/2008 Vzwrlss*ecars Ot 888-294-6804 Ca $50.00 03/26/2008 Vzwrlss*ecars Ot 888-294-6804 Ca $100.00 03/26/2008 Vzwrlss*ecars Ot 888-294-6804 Ca $100.00 03/26/2008 Vzwrlss*ecars Ot 888-294-6804 Ca $100.00 03/26/2008 Vzwrlss*ecars Ot 888-294-6804 Ca $250.00 03/26/2008 Vzwrlss*ecars Ot 888-294-6804 Ca $50.00 My husband has been on hold with the cc company for over an hour!!
I had my car window smashed. Hit me for a Garmin Bluetooth and my HSA CC (Health Saving Account Credit Card). The cop and I laughed. Tried to turn crap into something funny. The idiots that smashed my into my car got an unusable Garmin and an unusable CC. The Garmin was passcode locked and the HSA account only works for health related purchases. I had the Vzwrlss*ecars OT show up and declined. Took them less then 5 minutes to use the card too... very fast... glad it was not a real CC. Just have to be real carefull these days... no respect for people.
HI,I found this thread after getting my monthly credit card statement and discovering that my credit card was repeatedly charged with amounts in the hundreds by Verizon ( Vzwrlss*ecars OT ) as well as Amazon gift certificates and a one time phone order at Domino's Pizza. What I found interesting is that all of this started on the last day of March right after I had paid with my credit card at the Stater Bros. store in Palm Springs (Vista Chino Ave). Usually the charges on my credit card account appear with the name of the place (like: VONS Palm Springs) - but the Stater Bros doesn't show "Palm Springs" but a telephone number instead. Looks like there could have been some irregularity (malware? like just recently in all the 320 Hannaford groceries on the East Coast??). The first fraudulent charge is 60$ on the same day at a Domino's pizza (phone order) - I remember there was Domino's Pizza right next to the Stater Bros store...I saw in other messages of this thread that Palm Springs was mentioned there, too.The only other people I handed my credit card to on that day was the receptionists at Best Value Inn in Palm Springs. Not sure how to put all this together, but maybe someone else can draw some conclusion.Or at least tell me, where I could report my observations (like credit card fraud police or sth like that) after all, every little piece might help to catch those criminals!Hannah (Hamburg/Germany)
No phone call, but an online charge to my wife's checking account. My wife was reviewing her checking account online and saw a charge for $50 to VZWRLSS*ECARS OT 888-294-6804, posted two days ago. She immediately informed me and I called that number to learn it is Verizon Wireless prepaid phone. Trouble is, WE DON'T HAVE A VERIZON WIRELESS PREPAID PHONE! Calling that number I too tried to get a live person by pressing 0, but it's impossible. I know from the experience of friends and relatives who have Verizon, that trying to deal with their customer "support" (NONsupport?) is am exercise in futility. Thanks for this site. I'll call my bank. I think they have 24-hour customer service, even though it is Saturday.
If you put any PrePaid mins on a phone and left your credit card on that site thats why you are getting billed from them. I got the same charge on my checking Account and did some research and found out what it was. Need to call anyone that you put mins on there phone and go back to the VERIZON PREPAID PAGE and see if your credit card is still there. If it is remove it from the site and you should not get billed anymore. But if you do call VERIZON PREPAID and see if they can help you.
