Currently deployed to Iraq and made several purchases on amazon.com with my card for Christmas presents for family. That is the only thing I have used it for in the last month or two. I cancelled my card and submitted fraud clame to bank. Only thing i can think of is if amazon is based out of Cali or if one of the companies I ordered stuff from through amazon is, either way I'm going to get in touch with amazon.

Cancel your card right away! I just looked on my online banking and two charges, one for 106.50 and 159.75 came through- of course I don't use Verizon. Make sure to go to your bank and or credit card company right away because you won't get any help from Verizon I'm sure. The fraud dept will do the dirty work so report it right away. People suck!

Yep. Cancel your cards right away. Verizon Wireless won't have any idea of these fraud charges because the company's name and phone number is being used -that's why they can't help. When you call the 888 number it will ask for a 10 digit phone number before you can proceed to charge the card- to buy or pay balance - if not, it will transfer to CSR. I feel bad for Verizon Wireless as they are getting hammered by calls made by these fraud modus operandi.

I was helping my mother today with some charges on her credit card from "Vzwrlss*ecars Ot 888-294-6804 Ca" no one is able to track who this is. Just had these charges show up on my checking account as a debit card purchase. I have NO association with Verizon in anyway and no one else has access to my card that would have somehow used it with Verizon. My bank says someone called in the card number and pin to make the charges. they are cancelling my card and issuing new. still waiting for word on reversing them.

I was charged $100 on my Bank of America card in October '08. Don't have a Verizon account, or any other Verizon product. Called the 888-294-6804 and those folks (Verizon)were worthless. Said I would have to file a complaint w/my c card company. No wonder Bank of America is in financial trouble when they are continually writing off bad charges that merchant companies should be responsible for. Tried to file a complaint w/Bank of America but they continually lost the paperwork referencing this complaint and closed the case due to a time statute of limitations. I have filed a report with the local sheriff's office (worthless), Better Business Bureau (worthless; after 4 months, said they can't help me as I don't have an account w/Verizon. No kidding!! Thus the reason for my complaint!). I am going to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and Consumer Protection Agency. Do the following; 1)do file a report with your local law enforcement agency, 2) File a complaint with your state attorney general's office 3) Most importantly, request from your credit card company a 'Retrieval Request Document' which shows every bit of detailedinformation about the charge to your card. I did not request this but today, strangely, I received this document. It shows great detail, including that the purchase was for a prepaid Verizon product. At the bottom it showed someone elses name and address as the card holder and it was NOT me!! Someone in the same community that I live in. But the c card company blacked out their last name and mailing address. A friend of mine that is a cop has a special light to read this blacked out data. Hopefully we can track down this person and find out what is going on. Again, request a Retrieval Request Document from your credit card company. This by far has provided the most information regarding this mystery.

Just got hit with over 3 $100 charges from Verizon ECARS on my debit card.Any other ideas how to stop this? I have canceled my debit card.

This phone number along with VZWRLSS * ECARS OT was listed on my bank statement. $108.50 was TAKEN out of my bank account. This was NOT me and my bank is already taking care of it. BEWARE!

I just checked my CC acct and in March this charged 145.00 showed up as VZWRLSS My Acct VE Folsom CA. What is this? I already called my CC to CX. and also put is a fraud claim. Never had a Verizon acct.
