Honey...that is a prepaid verizon customer service center that is accepting your charge card. Come to find out people accessed your charge number and is filling their verizon prepaids with it. Why verizon isn't fixing this problem is beyond me.
They got us also:12/06/10CHKCARDVZWRLSS*PREPAID888-29404 CAUS $95.0012/06/10CHKCARDVZWRLSS*PREPAID888-29404 CAUS $50.0012/06/10CHKCARDVZWRLSS*PREPAID888-29404 CAUS $25.0012/06/10CHKCARDVZWRLSS*PREPAID888-29404 CAUS $40.0012/06/10CHKCARDVZWRLSS*PREPAID888-29404 CAUS $40.00I called the bank as well as Verizon Wireless Prepaid. The bank is investigating and will know more tomorrow. We are customers of Verizon Wireless and they are also working with us and the bank. The police have been informed as well and a report filed.I received NO call from the number what so ever.
I don't know about calls...i noticed the charge on my billing statement with the bank. Let me figure this out???? Are they calling your cell and then you noticed a charge aftwards? I don't use my card on my cell or store it on their website... I'm assuming that they somehow got our card numbers through one of those breech of securities from Bank of America or Ge Money bank who sent notices that customers info was stolen but they don't think we are affected?????
Don't bother - they can't do anything for you. Cancel your account is all you can do so you won't be "hit" again. We are one of many..... Criminal and sickening it is !!!! So much for technology.....
Same here. Charge for $110 from VZWRLSS*ECARS. Has anyone had any luck from verizon in this? calling their fraud dept ?
I've gotten three calls from 888-294-6804 today. Of course, I searched the number and ended up at this website. I spoke to customer service (and the rep's supervisor) at Verizon. They were not helpful, and refused to access my account without providing my security code (despite the fact that they had access by indexing my cellphone number...which I provided). I simply wanted to know if they called me (since 888-294-6804 is still listed as the CS number on the Verizon Wireless website). And, if they called me (three times) I wanted to know why. They refused to tell me without the security access code. However, I did fire off an email to the Northeast Media Contact representative, the Corporate Performace representative, the Human Resources and Employee Relations representative...and Ivan Seidenberg (Verizon CEO) asking for a little cooperation...and asking why their CS representatives are not even aware of this issue intimately. I don't expect a response, but I'm located close to a Verizon hub office (NY, NY) and might stop in over lunch one of these days if the calls continue.Cheers,JR
I too got a phone call from this number, I thought it was odd they didn't leave a message. I also called Verizon and they said they did call and not to worry; however I'm calling my bank and telling them to block any charges from Verizon as I am a pre-paid user.
