This number just called me claiming to be Verizon, saying that I was past due and to enter my credit card info to avoid disruption of service. I contacted Verizon (because I knew I was NOT past due), they said that this is not a number of theirs. BEWARE, THIS NUMBER IS A SCAM POSING AS VERIZON!!!!!!
Unknown Name and 888 423-0900. They called, I answered, No nothing. They just hang up.I called back. after going through the circuler voice mail and waiting for 10 minutes I got through to someone that identified herself as being with Verizon Finances. She wanted my full name, mailing address, phone number, and account number off my Verizon statement.I informed her the reason I was calling was the rude phone call I got and I was going to report it to the attorney generals office and that I wasn't going to give them any information at all considering there was no way to varify they were actually with Verizon and not someone trying to con me out of money. Her response was they would just disconect my phone.
I got a call from 888-423-0900 and let it roll to voicemail. The second I did, I got a text message from Verizon, that my payment was due. I had a voicemail from Verizon that my bill was past due.
They robot called my landline, which is NOT Verizon, but my cell is. They said I was past due, which I'm not. I logged in to my Verizon cell account, and sure enough, it's "Paid In Full" because I paid it last week, on time, like I always do. Verizon NEVER calls my landline, THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE THAT NUMBER. They send messages to my cell. THIS IS A SCAM.
I have been getting a call once or twice a week from 1-888-243-0900, and they never leave a message, and they can never find my number when I call them back.I told the person I was speaking with I wanted to speak to a supervisor, and she transferred me to an extension that required a phone or account number. I did not give it either, it said good-bye, and hung up.I went online and found the real customer service number for Verizon. I called them and shared my story. She ran the number, and told me it was absolutely NOT a Verizon number. I asked her if it was a scam. She said yes, absolutely, this is a not a Verizon number, and she was reporting the number to her fraud alert system within Verizon.I am calling the BB, contacting the FTC, and I am officially blocking the number from being able to reach me.
