I got two calls from these people, responded, and the automated system hung up on me before I got to a live operator. They got the last 4 digits of my credit card number. Then they said they'd transfer me to a live person and hung up. Do not give your information to these people.
I received a auto-voice message saying they were Wells Fargo. I called the number on the back of my credit card and Wells Fargo said it was there call, that the 1888-671-2468 was an automated line. They were just trying to get ahold of me about resent activity on my account. So, just call the number on the back of your credit card and find out the resent activity on your card.
Wow, I totally thought these people were fraudulent, but it's possible that they're not. I called up Wells Fargo using the number on my credit card, and they really did want to verify some transactions.I would NOT recommend giving any information to the people who call you, because there's still a chance that they could be scammers (perhaps my situation was just a coincidence). Instead, you should just call Wells Fargo using the number on your credit card, and ask if you need to verify any transactions.
This was indeed a call from wells fargo, although I was suspicious and hung up. I then called Wells Fargo, and confirmed that it was them. Perhaps their automated message isn't designed very well based on other comments, but call your bank and check, because they did indeed catch some fraudulent charges.
I received the supposed Wells Fargo fraud department call from the (888)671-2468 number. I called my bank using the number on the back of my credit card and they told me there was no flag on my account and to NOT give that number a call back. They said they were NOT part of Wells Fargo.You expect this type of thing in your email but not on your home phone.
I've gotten repeated calls form this number... I missed the first and there was a recorder message... I've answered each of the other ten calls today, and whehn I answer, the other side hangs up!THis is harrasment, short and simple. I don't even have a Wells Fargo card.
