I received a call from this number on August 21, 2014. I never answered the call, but called the number back after they hung up and I looked up the number here.It was Wells Fargo Bank calling about a suspicious fraudulent charge to my Visa card. After I pressed the number to confirm that the charge was fraudulent, the recorded message gave me an 800 number to call which was Wells Fargo Customer Service listed on the back of the card.When I called that number, they confirmed the fraudulent charge amount and indicated that it had been rejected by United Airlines. My card was cancelled and they're issuing a new one with a different number.

This is a good phone number and they went through my last transactions for the past couple of days to confirm that I had indeed made those purchases. This is a number from wells fargo. They were very detailed with the transactions even being correct about the amount, place of purchase and date. So this is a good number from wells fargo. Thanks

I received a call from this number, but no voicemail. After reading these posts, I called the number on the back of my Wells Fargo card. At the same time, I logged into my Wells Fargo account online, and it showed that my credit card was suspended. The representative indicated suspicious activity on my card, and that's why it was flagged. There was a charge that I didn't make, and we cancelled my card immediately.Call the number on your card from your bank, just to be safe.

Received a call from this number on both the house and cell phone, no message. After reading other posts I called the customer service number on the back of our Wells Fargo credit card. The representative said that yes, they had tried to reach us. Our card was compromised. Thank you to the others that posted they had the same experience it made me check it out.

Mine was an automated response from Wells Fargo regarding possible fraud and asked me to call them back. I had forgotten (right in the middle of watching the Blue Angels) and got another call from this number today and looked it up and found these comments. So I did look at my online account (said temporarily restricted) and called the number on the back of my credit card. It was the multiple vending machine purchases that triggered it yesterday, so all is good. It's annoying when this happens but I guess overall I'm grateful. So I agree with others here, the number is legit but use your card number to call back.
