Lois Jeffrey called and said this is the better business bureau and this message is for the head of the company. She did not mention my company by name.

I got the same call. Called the number back and it was the BBB for Alaska/Washington/Oregon

Justin from the BBB at x149 wanting to speak to an executive member of our company. They called a field office in CO (our WA phones are transferred to CO). I believe if they were actually the BBB, they would have called our corporate office. I think this is some sort of phishing scam. Beware!

I own a autobody shop got the same call I checked it out its legit. Did you call back to verify?

I'm a business owner as well, I recieved a call from this number, it does belong to the better business bureau, it's their toll free number. No scam, everything is fine.

What were they calling about ? I have received the same message. Are they selling something ? Or following up on a complaint ?

This is a legit number. I am very glad for this sort of searching cause you never know these days what's out there. As soon as I saw here that this was legit, I called back. So, thank goodness for this forum. I did return the call. They asked me a few questions to ensure that my business information was correct but NONE that was asked of private info such as social, access info or any other private information. Most of what I would have displayed on my business on my website. This is meant for an acknowledgement of invitation only to the BBB directory. They are asking about $800 or something for an annual subscription which we would be put on their BBB accredited directory, web site link off of their site, their assurance of customer dispute support department, etc. She wasn't ever pushy about time limit of the price that it had to be paid now and that it can be joined anytime. It was more of acknowledge and what your business is about. I'm not sure if she usually asks that since our business is VERY Unique and requires some level of explanation. She was pleasant, non threatening and very polite answered all my questions that I had in mind. So the point is, it is legit.

The commenter above "ED" is a scammer. Pay close attention to his grammar. It gives them away always.

caller ID said 206-431-2222, "this is the BBB call us back at 888-860-2227 ext 148", no description of why they are calling, trying to sound important and urgent , asking for the owner of the business., not friendly, easily could assume its a scam, I would never call them back with these tactics, leave us alone!
