I have had two calls from this number. One about 15 minutes ago and the other last Friday night, one week earlier at 9:00 pm. I'd really like to find out who this is and how to put an end to it.

I just got a call from this number regarding working with my computer. A man with an Indian accent. When I told him to take my name off his calling list, he said he couldn't do that and that he wanted to F*** my daughter. Then he hung up. I laughed for a good 5 minutes - go figure

There is a way to end the scam but you have to play it off right. Now this may not be completely legal in your area. Answer the phone as a place of business for example. "US Marshall's office, branch, how may I direct your call?". They will stop calling FAST. Friend tried this one.The above option is legally risky claiming to be a govt agency could get you in trouble. You can safely listen to everything they say. Then when they say how does that sound say the following "Thank you for complying with the investigation and allowing the trace to complete. We will be in contact with you shortly" Then hang up. Now they will call back, just dont answer for 20 minutes. Normally they will blacklist your phone #. This is how I got the calls to stop after the last attempt to get some sort of information.

Received call on my Cell Phone from 888-888-8888 on October 24, 2007, at 12:26 am. I wonder if it connected to something like the *67 you put before dialing a number so your number won't appear... I have no idea how anyone would have gotten my number...

called multiple times late at night

I got a call from 888-888-8888 on my cell phone yesterday at 4:22 pm. Usually don't answer numbers I don't recognize, so did not answer it. Looks like I made the right decision after reading all of these postings. They did not leave a message. Thought the number looked weird, guess so.

I'm not able to answer as I don't have skype, but suddenly my laptop "Lenovo" starts printing hundreds of 8888... This is happening even with M.S.Essentials reports system is bug free.

HAS CALLED MY CELL PHONE FOR 2 WEEKS, I USUALLY DON'T ANSWER IT BUT TODAY I CALLED THE NUMBER BACK FIRST I BLOCKED MY NUMBER AND A RECORDED MESSAGE SAID THEY DON'T ACCEPT BLOCKED CALLS THEN I UN BLOCKED MY HOUSE NUMBER AND CALLED BACK AND THE MAN THAT ANSWERED SAID IT WAS HONG KONG, AND THENI SAID I WAS TRYING TO FIND OUT WHO KEEPS CALLING ME AND THE MAN SAID OH OK THEN HUNG UP.

I received a call 2:16 a.m. and 7:02 a.m. this morning from this number. They hung up as soon as I answered both times. Why can't verizon block these people?
